This is literally for an object that has an outside diameter of 1/2" (i.e. 1/2" OD poly tubing). It is not suitable for 1/2" thin wall conduit, ridged conduit or 3/8" pipe or 1/2" sch 40 pipe which are all larger. Quality was good. The black 1/2" insert is made from a very ridged plastic.
