  • Saves money - instead of replacing the factory shift cable with a similar design, this shift cable repair kit replaces just the failure-prone plastic end joint with a much more durable steel end joint
  • Simple installation - the steel end joint in this patented repair kit features an innovative split and threaded ferrule design that installs quickly and easily on the factory cable end
  • Restores shifting - this kit is designed to help ensure precise, reliable automatic transmission shifts on specified Toyota, Lexus, and Scion vehicles
  • Trustworthy quality - backed by a team of product experts in the United States and more than a century of automotive experience
  • Ensure fit - Input your vehicle into the garage tool and check Confirmed Fit bar at the top of the page. If there is an “i” in a blue circle, additional verification is needed. Please hover over the "i" to verify fitment notes match your vehicle

The flimsy plastic end on the original automatic transmission shifter cable on certain Toyota, Lexus, and Scion vehicles tends to wear and split, causing sloppy or unpredictable gear shifting and eventually rendering the vehicle inoperable. This patented Dorman OE FIX shift cable repair kit replaces the plastic shift cable end joint with a durable steel joint, saving the expense of replacing the entire cable, providing a longer-lasting, more reliable repair, and restoring precise, predictable shifts. This part is compatible with the following vehicles. Before purchasing, enter your vehicle trim in the garage tool to confirm fitment. [Lexus RX300: 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003] - [Toyota Avalon: 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004] - [Toyota Camry: 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006] - [Toyota Corolla: 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008] - [Toyota Echo: 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005] - [Toyota Highlander: 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004] - [Toyota Matrix: 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008] - [Toyota RAV4: 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005] - [Toyota Sequoia: 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005] - [Toyota Sienna: 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010] - [Toyota Tundra: 2003, 2004, 2005]

So close... Had to modify to make it fit. The end piece on the cable fit the clip side, but not the main piece. So, I shortened the cable end to fit the both sides only to find that the center was bigger than the opening in the part. So drilled that out with a slightly larger bit and made the slope less steep with a 17/32 bit. That did it, and it works great. Much cheaper than the $800+ the Toyota dealer quoted to replace the cable.

Worked great on my 98 Camry. Just had to drill out the hole a bit due to my shifter linkage bold swelling up a bit from rust over the years. Worked great way better than replacing whole shifter cable and will last longer than that crap plastic on the oem cable

This fit perfectly in my 2000 Camry (4 cylinder). This Toyota was made in Lexington, KY.When the cable end broke I started looking for a replacement cable, I saw that there were two different types of cables depending if the car was made in Japan or in America.I'm not sure but I suspect that the design of the cable ends could be different? One cacavet: just be careful when tightening the main nut, with the split design of the threads I could easily see someone stripping these by overdoing it.

In order for this to fit a 2002 Lexus RX300 you need to spend a lot of time grinding out the inside to fit the stock shift cable. I gave it more than one star just because it still takes longer to replace the whole cable.

Read the reviews. I had to do what one buyer said. I used a drumle grinder to get it to fit. Took 2 hours. Just buy a oem cable save you a headache.

I used this on my 06 scion xb at the transmission bracket. Just like a lot of other reviews said, it does need to be modified. You’ll need a dremel tool and have to hollow out the inside of the connector.

I have a 97 Camry v6 xle. The shifter cable broke right at the transmission. Toyota employs a hard plastic seat ( that broke ) to affix the cable to the eyelet. Thanks to the dorman engineers for this fix. The entire cable for the v6 is not available on the internet nor Toyota. After reading a prior review I was skeptical but I bought the part. After 2 minutes of removing the broken plastic the dorman part was on and is way better than new. If it took you more than 2 minutes to install then your doing something wrong. If your the type that believes a square peg fits in a round hole then this part is not for you. Just be careful when manipulating the old cable as you do not want to kink it or damage the sleeve. This saved me multiple hours of work.
