Used this on a brake line repair for a 2006 Silverado. Lines at rear of these vehicles rust out due to snow/ice melt chemicals used on our roads. No need to have to change out the whole line when you can splice into good line material. Some folks will start hyperventilating and say that you cannot/should not use compression fittings and use regular unions that require a double flare for joining/repairing brake lines. Well, chill out as this particular compression union is unlike those used for soft copper (common plumbing) lines as the ferrules/sleeves are designed elongated and seal without creating a possible crimp on the line that could lead to failure. I don't know how better to explain this other than you have to see it in person for yourself to understand. Just make sure your old lines are cleaned/shined well and use common sense when installing. Have used these before and never had a failure.

1996 mustang gt. Rack and pinion hard line rubbed on transmission lines. A pin hole formed at the bend at the rack. The other end 4 lines come together in a very tight and inaccessible location. I had 1/4 brake tubing, flare tool kit, and bender on hand already as well as a tubing cutter. A plan came together of decide the line, make and bend a new 1/2 that was damaged, avoid the hard to access location. Pressures I could find listed put our system about 2000 psi. This new part listed at 5000 psi. The repair was a success! No leaks! Where rubbing had occurred I wrapped the lines in rubber fuel line to protect them in the future. Bottom line is she is back in service! I appreciate this product as a reasonable strong quality solution. Thank you!
