Customer complained in tge summer he hated driving this little car fir if he was in stop and go traffic it over heated. Had it at several shops, always needed a new set of fans or a new computer. A simple volt/ohm test and yes it is defective. It is nice to see one may purchase some parts at a fair price these days. Not always cheaper of of the same quality but must of the time it is the way to go.

Replaced OEM resistor with no issue, fit and function were good. Fixed my heater fan; I now have all speeds under my control (1-4); and not just full blast (4)

Went in pretty easy..if you follow the electrical wiring down, you will find attachment points that are just plastic plugs you can gently pull/pry out...be careful not to break them! We ended up soldering connecting wires, and using heat shrink tape over soldered connection. Solid part..fan working much better now!

Bought for my 01 Ford Focus and just realized today that with AC off car was starting to overheat... meaning this past has failed less than a year since install. Possibly failed earlier than today and I just never noticed it too!

The Focus was overheating in stop-and-go traffic when the AC was off. Multiple Youtube videos suggested that replacing this part would fix the problem, and they were right.Easy 5-minute job to swap the resistor assembly itself. Easy to cut off the old ruined connector from the very end of the wiring harness. Major pain to work with the little stubby wires in the wiring harness (Ford made them juuuust long enough to reach the resistor assembly), strip the ends, and crimp on the wire connectors. Ended up using a couple ( instead of the crimp types included in the kit, which were much easier to work with in the tight space and with the wiring stubs--no need to strip the wires and no need to hold the wires just exactly right for crimping.Problem solved, radiator fans come on when they should. Kit includes everything needed, but I'd recommend using other wire connectors to make the job fast and easy.

My original Ford part literally rusted apart rather than fail. Used the original Ford pigtail with no problems. Resistor fit in the blower opening no problem. Two words to the wise, when removing original unit, be gentle, as the plastic fingers that hold this unit in, get brittle over the years from all the heat. Second advise, use Ford Motorcraft, Part. No. XG-3-A Dielectric Compound on the prongs of the Resistor that the plug goes onto. The original Ford pigtails have a habit of melting. The Dielectric Compound can help prevent this. This was cheaper than the equivalent Ford product. It did not fit exactly as the OEM one did but I think is OK.It came with the wiring harness which is great - that part alone from Ford is more than the entire assembly form Dorman!Nothing to do with the product (I don't think) but I switched out my old one because I was having problems with overheating and radiator fans not turning on properly. It did not solve my problem!Hope this helps,Steve
