Buyers beware…. Amazon fulfilled defective part, the weather was not suitable for me to install the part for 3 weeks. Once I did plug 1 and 2 are not being supplied voltage from this unit. Went to return it and no return option. I will try calling Amazon.

June 2018, Fit my US model 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee CRD with the Mercedes Benz OM642 Diesel engine. Install was quick and easy, many people have conflicting reviews of this Dorman module however this model works great for me. It was replaced as well as all 6 glow plugs. I recommend doing glow plugs at the same time as the module.

2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee CRD. Diagnosed #3 glow plug code which turned out to be the module (Old glow plug tested OK and replaced with known good and wires tested good and code persisted). When the OEM module was replaced with the Dorman 904-310, the codes were cleared, but it did NOT properly ignite the glow plugs resulting in a no-start condition at -13c. After 2 glow cycles and 40 seconds of cranking, the vehicle eventually started but was missing on multiple cylinders. The module was swapped back to the known bad OEM, where the #3 code returned, and would start instantly from cold while missing on only #3 cylinder.A replacement OE module was purchased from the dealership and replaced, and both the code and miss were completely resolved.

I purchased this module to replace the OEM one that was throwing me a code in my 07 WK CRD. I decided I would replace the glow plugs at the exact same time (165k on original) with Bosch OEM Glow Plugs Well now thats its getting cold outside I have encountered my vehicle taking a much much longer time to start, some times it cranks for 30sec before firing up in the cold mornings. although it wont throw a code and the glow plug dash light takes no longer to turn off. These modules are the problem, not the glow plugs which a few people have thought on here. I returned this product and bought the updated OEM one from MyMoparParts (they have an amazon store as well) plugged the new module in on a very cold morning after my Jeep had been sitting for 2 days not plugged into the block heater and first turn of the key the engine fired up like it did when it was new. SAVE YOURSELF SOMETIME AND ENGINE STRESS AND PAY THE MONEY FOR THE OEM ONE.

A lot of people have incorrectly stated this is a 7 volt unit It is not and was verified by calling Dorman. This is a 4.5 volt unit. It will work with 4.4 glow plugs found in sprinter Diesel engines. If in doubt, pull the glow plug and the voltage will be written on the glow plug.It worked on a 2007 dodge sprinter - this is the first time we have used a Dorman module. The OEM unit was showing a 2270-004 diagnostic code which means the controller was not working. On replacement with the Dorman module - the glow plugs worked. Vehicle starting in colder weather took a slightly longer time - but it could be due to glow plugs having 80k miles on them. It's highly / strongly recommended that when changing the controller, one changes all the glow plugs or you could see glow plugs failing due to age. This has nothing to do with the controller.

This glow plug adaptor is smaller than my original, but it has the same mounting holes and fits perfectly, and it got rid if the "coil" red light on my 2008 Mercedes/freightliner sprinter. I cannot attest for durability. But it saved me a bunch of money against dealer prices. The product is made in India. Nothing wrong with that in this global economy we live now.

I have successfully used Dorman products in the past and enjoyed what appears to be good quality and great prices. This read as incorrect on my 2005 E320 Cdi. It may work fine for other models. Return was fast and effortless. Definitely a five star transaction, to pull up a one star fitment.

The connections are a match for my 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee 3.0L BUT the output voltage appears to be a problem. After 4 weeks of operation all of my glow plugs died. After consulting with a Mercedes specialist I was told that Chrysler modified the glow plug voltage requirements in their 2007-2008 3.0L down from the normal 7 volts to 4 volts. As a result the stock Jeep glow plugs will be slowly fried by the higher and require replacement with the higher voltage glow plugs. Generally it is recommended that glow plugs be replaced at the same time as the module, so save yourself some time and frustration and order glow plugs with Sprinter voltages. They will draw marginally more current, but do the same job. The sellers of this item would do us all a favor by noting this in their compatibility charts.
