It works good but it bends kinda easy. Would recommend on soft fruits only. Cantaloupe and honey dew need to be ripe or it might bend the spoon.

My last Mellon Baller survived 18 years of use in my kitchen. This one lasted through the coring of two Granny Smith apples. The scoop bent to the point it just wasn't of much use.

Worst melon baller I have owned. Flimsy/bends easily, doesn’t form a good ball, hard to use. Don’t buy.

I bought this melon baller to replace the old one we used for years to core apples. The second time we used it it bent. It is flimsy and not the right shape or thickness for the job. Maybe if we used it on a nice soft watermelon it would have lasted longer, but it is not very sturdy.

The scoop is not deep enough to create Mellon balls. It is essentially a spoon.
