Exactly what I was looking for on a budget. I have never used one of these before and I needed something simple, easy and fast. Learning how to use one of these was a breeze for me, esp for my first time using one. There are many different sized extractors with good quality. This kit works for my needs on my vehicle.

I just ran into locking pliers that operate on this same principle. You attach the right size collet to the part you're looking to pull, and the other end to the tool itself. Then by ramming the sliding weight back (I'm guessing it's about 2 lbs), it yanks on the part until it comes loose. This is a better solution than trying to use strength or leverage to pull it and is a lot easier. This is a metric set, so I do wish they'd included standard collets, or made them available for purchase separately. There's nothing to prevent you from putting together any sort of connector in place of the collet, and yanking just about anything with thread out. It's a simple concept, but it works well. I don't think I'll need this that often, but when I do, this is invaluable.
