Like some reviews, this does have a smell, but only upon initial usage. It didn’t bother me.It’s super quiet, but the ‘BEEP’ can be loud, however that can be turnt off I believe. It warms up my small apartment very well and fairly quick. I wouldn’t say instantly, but probably within 5-10minutes. Again, it’s super quiet! It’s easy to move around and there’s a cable management on the backside which is a plus!My only gripe is that somehow it leaves my apartment with white residue. Example: I currently have my patio door sealed with a wrap and this entire wrap is covered with white residue. This is also on the heater itself and if I can assume, everything in my apartment…I opted for this over the others because I needed something that is energy efficient as my apartment floor boards have no heat.

It is most important to understand that this does not replace a furnace, but merely heats an area of your home. I did not find this successful downstairs in an open concept area because hot air rises. I utilize this upstairs in the hallway to help with ambient temperature and it does work. I would estimate my upstairs square footage somewhere between 500 and 600 ft.² just does take a little bit to warm up but overtime, it heats up and keeps the area nice and warm. We live on the end of a townhouse, so of course, it is the most drafty. This helps safely increase the heat when our thermostat is locked at 69°F.When the heater is running, it is very toasty and you can feel it. I actually had to turn it off at one point because I was getting too warm in my bedroom down the hall. Something that many reviews fail to mention is that they did not read the instructions and probably turned it on right away. Had they read the instructions, there would not have been an odor. Unfortunately, too many people are in a rush and automatically assume something is wrong. The instructions clearly state to maximum heat it in a ventilated area for at least two hours as it is a new product. I ventilated it in a bathroom with an exhaust and the odor went away. It is absolutely quiet and doesn’t make a sound. There are safety features that include a timer as well as different heat intensities as well as ample safety points in the instruction guide. The remote is handy, and the product is itself is modern and sleek looking. I own an oscillating fan from the same company that has been running for four years straight, so the brand was never an issue. I will continue to come back and review this, but for now, it has a good rating with me. I’ll check back in in the spring.Edit 1: One week later, this thing is absolutely working. Despite it being rated for a 300 sq/ft area, it heated our entire upstairs to the point the thermostat read 80F when it locked ay 69F (obviously this is too hot but it was impressive). Our upstairs is about 600 sq/ft so that’s double what this is rated for. If we had a one level home, as long as there is good airflow, I don’t see why it couldn’t heat a larger area say, 800 sq/ft. This came just in time for winter. As I write this, it’s 13F outside but it’s a nice 75F in here. No regrets. An excellent value for the price and a quality product based on materials and durability.Edit 2: Yowsers this thing cooked me. I usually run it for 4 to 6 hours a day. Turned it on a 7pm and got cozy in bed. It’s down the hall about 13 feet and around the corner. Fell asleep. Woke up at 11:30pm and I was drenched in sweat and thirsty. I looked at the thermostat and it was 80°F! I had to turn it off. I’ll update again as soon as I get my monthly power bill for running it 6 hours a dayUpdate: I have fallen asleep with this thing on 80°F on a 6H timer with in running down the hall and the bedroom being a hot 79°F to the point I’m sweating and have to turn it off. It’s still doing very well. I got my bill back for the month and it’s only up $45-ish from the normal amount despite running this about 6 hours per a day every day. That’s not really all that bad. It stays off during the work day and turns on when I get home and turns off after I’ve fallen asleep

This heater appears to be very well made and is quite attractive and stylish. Provides good, uniform heat, much more comfortable in my opinion than the "ceramic" heaters with a fan. One thing I was concerned about was the length of the power cord. It is about eight feet long, giving lots of options for positioning the heater in a room. There are numerous safety features, perhaps the most interesting one is a thermal sensor in the plug. If your outlet or wiring is defective causing the outlet and plug to overheat the heater will shut down and display an error code ("PP", which I assume is for "power plug"). The amazon listing may not give the power ratings, they are low = 600 watts, medium = 900 watts, and high = 1500 watts. I have one very minor design complaint: the low, medium, and high power settings are displayed as H1, H2, and H3, so if you set it on "low" then come back later and glance at the display it will appear to say "HI". And your reaction might be: "It's on HIGH? I thought I had it on LOW?". :-) As far as a strong smell on startup, I really didn't notice any. I put it on an enclosed porch for the recommended two hours on high to burn off any residue that might smell, and checked it from time to time, but never noticed anything. I strongly advise that you READ THE MANUAL, which you can download from Dreo, and that you do so after you order and before it is delivered.

I love this radiant heater. It has all the features that I need, has a nice design and was a good price. I have an open concept home, so it is difficult to heat. This unit does a good job and is the best. Far surpassing my portable ceramic heater and another electric one that looks like a small fireplace. This one at 1800W runs continuously and melted the outlet and almost caused a fire. No such problems with Dreo radiant heat. I use the H2, 900W setting and since it has a thermostat it turns on and off. The plug has remained cool. From day one there was never any odor and no noise. The unit also has a mute button so you can turn off the sound of clicking the control buttons. Has a nice remote and is digital. After much searching I am very happy with this product and I recommend it.

I have a two story house and it’s expensive trying to keep it warm in winter because the system will heat up the entire house and I must of the time just stayed in the living room are where is my work desk so I decided to give it a try and turned out that I couldn’t get better than this, I set it up on 95 degrees on eco mode and warm the entire house, mind blowing! My house thermostat is showing 72 degrees all the time since I started using this heater and super energy efficient, 0 noise, beautiful design, easy use manually or with the remote control. It gets really hot to the touch so keep that in mind if you have small kids but other than that this is a very functional pice of engineering. Surprisingly not too expensive for what is able to do. Definitely 10/10
