About this item

  • FITMENT: Compatible with the 2007-2018 Jeep Wrangler JK | 2018-2021 Jeep Wrangler JL | 2020-2021 Jeep Gladiator JT
  • DESIGNED: Developed with threaded body utilizing variable locking rings to accommodate variable ride heights and tires sizes up to 37"
  • FUNCTION: Built to prevent your suspension from "bottoming out" and protecting your undercarriage and suspension
  • INTERNAL STRUCTURE: Built to be fully rebuildable and serviceable, the bump stops use a combination of hydraulic fluid and compressed air.
  • INSTALLATION: Installs into the factory coil bucket, some cutting is required during installation, and professional installation is recommended

These heavy duty bump stops install directly into the JK coil bucket and prevent the suspension from bottoming out through the last few inches of travel. Whether dropping off of a rock ledge or hitting the whoops, the factory bump stops can not effectively keep up with the force that is being exerted on them. Our bump stops control the last few inches of travel and provide additional dampening where it is most needed. DV8 Bump Stops will help to save you and your Jeep from harshly bottoming out and allow for a more comfortable ride as you push your rig to its limits.

Trash those OEM bump stop buffers if they havent already fell off. These are going to be way better than the OEM bump stops. Great time to install these is during a lift kit as you're already doing 95% of the work then. These take the hard bottom out hits and make the suspension feel like a 2 stage. I only have about 4" of travel before these come in to play and well worth it if you do trails. I put this set on the front of my 14 JK 2 door, fit perfect. I paired the rear with SUMO Spring bumps and they are super nice for the rear.. Pricey but nice.

--UPDATE AFTER 2 MONTHS OF USE--So there is definitely a consistent "tapping" noise as these touch the plastic lower bump stop pads. Even just driving around the street, when I go over a speed bump or a transition to a driveway, etc they touch down slightly causing a noise. It is something you will have to live with if you install these. And yes, I do have them correctly adjusted - I cycled the suspension several times during setup to make sure they were right. I'm learning to live with it, but it is annoying as the "tap" is transmitted up into the steering wheel (as are all road conditions in a Jeep).ORIGINAL REVIEW:One of the advantages of these (besides the bargain price) is that they do not require welding to install them. Most hydraulic bump stops require you to weld on a mount to the frame and then install them to the mount. These are cleverly designed to install into the existing bump stop tube on the front of the Jeep JK, which saves space and eliminates the need for welding. However it does require you to cut 2" from the bottom of the bump stop tube (I just cut them off with the bump stops installed to save time). IF you don't cut them off PERFECTLY straight, the bump will be angled too much and will bump into your springs at full droop. Be aware that if you have longer aftermarket springs (like my 3.5" Metalcloak springs) you may have to COMPLETELY disassemble your front axle from the Jeep to be able to get enough droop to completely remove the springs. I'm talking not just the shocks and brake lines, but also the upper and lower control arms, track bar, and drag link (which requires removing the tie rod from the passenger side on most setups). This turns what could be a 2-hour job into a 6+ hour job. So if you have aftermarket longer springs, think about ANYTHING ELSE you might want to do at the same time (like big brake conversion, ball joints, tie rod, drag link, track bar, etc) on the front end, and then you can just do everything all at the same time. It literally took me an entire weekend of tinkering to get these installed (mostly because I put everything together and then realized I hadn't cut one side perfectly straight and it was hitting inside the coil spring on full droop) so I had to completely tear everything back down and do it all over again a second time. Using an angle grinder to square off the cuts helps a lot, and also make sure you have a large floor jack (not just a wimpy 2-ton one from Harbor Freight). Now that I have them installed, they seem to be working very well - I can't hear them when they touch down (which I was worried about). I have not taken them on any difficult trails yet, but I'm getting ready to do a cross-country trip with a lot of off-roading and will report back. One of the things I really like about them is that they are very easy to adjust the bump stop length once you have them installed, so dialing it in just right is pretty easy. HEY DV8---INCLUDE A FRIGGING SPANNER WRENCH WITH THESE! Trying to do it with a plumbing spanner was a giant PITA because it did not fit very well and kept slipping off. Knocking off one star for not including instructions (or even a sheet pointing to their online instructions) and not including a spanner wrench.

These are 1/3 the price I paid for KINGS! I absolutely beat the heck out of them and I have recommended them to each and every person who asks about them! Look out there are some similar ones that are very poor quality!

These bumps are great. No instructions provided, but plenty of videos out there to watch. You have to cut 2” of the stock bump bucket off then it slides right in.

Exactly what I was looking for! They will be going on the front of my Jeep JK. They are very high quality and amazing for the price. Looking forward to testing them out.
