The collar works great however the battery life is horrible it has to be charged almost daily making it a pain to put on and off the dog. We have purchased the mini and it is worst then this one about staying charged. This was the highly recommended one from our trainer but we had a cheaper version that requires batteries and it lasted longer then these high dollar ones.

Great for dog training. Does not hurt your dog. It just vibrates a little and that helps them get it.

We had purchased a cheaper E collar and it was so hard to change the strength of the zap. Our dog trainer suggested this collar and it has been a breeze to use. Yes, you pay more, but you reduce the chance of your dog getting a super high jolt or not one at all. This has been one of the best items we have bought for our girl and training has been a relaxed and rewarding time. BTW she is an 11 month old energetic dog.

Takes a bit to program your brain to remember what each button is while you're in active training. Product quality is fantastic. I have not personally tested long distance, but across our 5 acre property we have no issues. I like that you can lock it into a certain shock setting so you cannot inadvertently turn the dial up or down, and potentially ruining a training session.If planning to purchase, be aware you will absolutely have to read the instruction manual!

This is my second Educator collar! The first I used for approximately 5 years with HEAVY use! Saltwater exposure every weekend during the summer was no match to this collar!I do think I prefer the mini educator with the round remote a little better! Although I’ve only had this one for two weeks so it is probably more of a getting used to the buttons. The remote definitely fits better in my hand and I also like the beep feature. My pup just don’t know how to react to it yet😂. My first collar didn’t have that only shock and vibrate.I know this is a long winded response and I hope you make it this far as I believe it is the most important part! About 2 years in on my mini educator I had to call and get the collar replaced. Second ring a HUMAN answered the phone. Barely asked questions when I said the collar wouldn’t charge and sent me a brand new one! All she asked was to send the old back! I even tried to pay as I know letting Bella play in the ocean with it on has to be hard on it.If you are on the hunt and can’t decide I highly recommend you just going ahead and get it! I’ve tried cheaper collars and they are not even a close match to these! I will never own a different brand due to the quality and most importantly the customer service I received!

I ordered the EZ Educator 900. I charged up the collar and the hand unit. Once those were both charged, I activated the collar and turned on the hand unit. As I was reading the directions and going through the functions I came across the I mode. It describes how to switch on the I mode. I followed the instructions but couldn’t get the I mode to turn on so I started to do some research on the internet. I found more instructions on You Tube. They were the same as the Instruction booklet. I noticed there was suppose to be an ”I” icon on the hand unit screen. On my unit there wasn’t any “I” icon. I called the company but it was past working hours so I decided to send it back thinking it was defective. Before I could send it back Amazon required that I call in to see if we could troubleshoot it over the phone. After a period of time, the Amazon service rep could only provide the same information as the owners manual. I asked Amazon to send a return slip and just send me another unit. They did so and on the second EZ Educator 900, it did the same thing. This time I called the manufacturer during business hours and they told me that I had to sign on with a PC and get some kind of interface from their website and then hook up the hand unit to activate the I mode. The first email had various attachments and one attachment had a picture of an interface but no directions to get the interface. I am still waiting to receive the process to get the interface to activate the I mode.I have a German Shepherd with thick fur in the neck area. I’m having trouble gettin her to feel any stimulation. I could feel the stimulation on my fore arm at a stetting of 5. I put the longer prongs on in hope to get her to feel it. I tried to comb the prongs through her fur to make sure it contacts skin and I’ve tightened the collar to the point I feel it is holding thingy in place but she still hasn’t felt any stimulation on a 15 setting. I’m concerned about going higher. I’ll keep working on this but I may be returning this unit also.

This is the third e-collar I've gotten in just a few months. The first on seemed to have a mind of it's own and also a very irritating sleep mode. I did a review you can read if you just click my name. The next was a sport dog 1225. It worked fine for a few weeks, then the shock stopped working. I had to keep turning it off and on until it worked.I had been watching YouTube videos on this stuff and noticed that, what seems to be the best videos also had the trainer holding that yellow thing. I checked it out and got one. It's worked up till now except for once, and that was a collar/contact issue. There must be something wrong with me, because I found the instructions very clear and had the thing programmed in just a few minutes. I did switch to the clip-on style collar. I like the charger too. A mini usb on the transmitter and a standard 5v plug on the collar. The sport dog uses their own plugs, so if you forget your charger, your out of luck. Also, we've been to the river and stuck in the rain - yes - it's waterproof. The led light is useful too.I forgot to mention, it comes with software for your pc. just plug in your mini usb on the transmitter and run the software.4 stars for now. I'll edit in a few months.I go 5 stars (8/27/18)
