This is a perfect light weight travel jacket for my husband and you would not believe how small you can roll it up into a tidy bundle in your suitcase or backpack. It can be worn alone or under another coat as it is not at all bulky if you are looking for extra warmth in freezing temperatures. Note that it is NOT waterproof though.

Honestly feels like parts of this jacket had very little of any down inside it. Very very thin but overall it’s decent for days when it’s not super cold out.

The delivery was several days quicker than expected and the quality is outstanding. The fit is perfect, and it is warm enough to wear in very cold weather outside, while light enough that it doesn't create a lot of bulk and hinder movement. Easy to pack and carry and I believe it will be the most versatile outerwear in my winter wardrobe.

Great liner for a water / wind proof winter jacket. Very comfortable to throw on and jump in the car .I live above 4000' winter weather is the real deal . This will add to my options for a fair price .Construction seem well made . If there's becomes a problem I'll revise the review . For now looks and feels fine .After wearing jacket through the long cold snowy winter of the Oregon Cascades I am very happy with the performance of this jacket .I also found it is packable into a front pocket . tldr; This coat is a great value with pockets that are a bit annoying, keeping it at 4/5 instead of a 5/5. If you don't mind pockets that are a bit awkward, I recommend this coat. The coat fits as expected. I usually wear small and small was a good fit for me. I'm 5' 10" and 155lbs.Real down feathers are used in this coat so it's light and warm. It's comfortable between 30 to 60 degrees Fahrenheit depending on the weather, how active you are, if you wear layers, etc. For example, on a sunny day I'll wear this coat for temps as low as 30 degrees with a sweater. When the weather is worse or it is night time, it is comfortable for temps as low as 40 degrees. This coat does a decent job at being a wind-breaker but you do feel some chills when the winds start to get violent. Shouldn't be a problem unless you live somewhere with crazy wind. There are 2 big pockets inside and 2 external zipper pockets. The external pockets are stitched behind the down layer but there is only nylon on the side touching your body. This isn't a problem until it's around 35 degrees outside where the bottom of the nylon will get cold if you aren't wearing gloves. The pockets inside are stitched in front of the exterior pockets which can feel awkward when you store several items. For example, if you store a beanie in the inside pockets, there'll be a visible bulge and it brushes against the top of your hand when you put your hand in its pockets.I can't attest to the water resistance as I haven't owned it long enough.Overall, it's a great value ($80) for a down jacket and I'm happy with my purchase. The awkward pockets don't bother me too much myself, but that's all I can think of that I'm not satisfied with.

This was my first puffy/down coat and I really enjoy it. I got the large-tall as its hard to find coats that fit. It fits perfectly, it's a great winter coat and has been surprisingly warm. I've been taking daily walks with it in 20-30 degrees and have no issues with warmth. Its been a long time since I've used a hood but it's nice to have when walking in the cold when there is some wind. You can move easily in it, its light, it keeps you warm, and wind doesn't penetrate it. It doesn't breath as much as some coats so you may find you build up moisture inside it if you are working fairly hard for a while. I haven't had any issues so far, but I suspect the outer shell fabric would probably rip/tear fairly easily if it hooked on a nail or something sharp so this probably functions more as a casual jacket or hiking coat than anything you'd want to do work in. I'm very happy with it and will probably keep a coat like this around for years to come as I've been more comfortable in the cold this year than I have ever been with other coats.

For the price, you can not beat the comfort and overall quality of this Eddie Bauer jacket. It is the lightest and warmest jacket I own and I own a few. I bought this mainly because of the price, thinking I wouldn’t use it until next winter, but I’ve been walking every morning at 6:00 am. In western/upstate NY it has been about 25 degrees in the morning. With a thin, long sleeved shirt under this jacket has been perfect. It’s kept me warm, but not too warm. If you are looking for a lightweight, warm coat under $50 look no further. Eddie Bauer on Amazon is the best quality you will find anywhere. Perfect jacket at a perfect price. I highly recommend this item.

First, let me say you have to do research and filter the reviews. Some are not written about this jacket. There are two versions of this jacket, one of which was made first available in 2016 and sells for $25 cheaper at the Eddie Bauer site, but looks exactly like this one and has the same description. This one was made first available in September of 2018. I cannot figure out why the reviews of the older one are added to the reviews of this one. As far as feathers coming out of seams, that is not true. The seams are tight and hold well. The jacket is fine in 40 degree weather but the chill will come through after awhile if you are not active. You do have to layer up if you aren’t actively doing something. The fit is perfect even then, I am 5’9” and 165lbs. With activity I had to open it up after awhile. Someone even said it is not water repellant because walking in a fog the fabric soaked up water like a sponge. That cannot be for this jacket. After reading that I splashed water on my newly arrived jacket and the water beaded up and rolled off like it had water repellant on it, which it does not., Be careful of the reviews, not all can be for this jacket. I gave this a 5 star rating for a reason. I hope this helps you.,
