There's a learning curve to this!!! After cooking the eggs to soft boiled, I put them in the cup -- be careful the cup becomes very hot to handle; I put the top on, pulled back on the spring-thing and with two or three springs, the egg cracked. BUT . . . the eggs escaped from the cup and dripped down on to my counter as I was pulling the top of the egg off. Have paper towels down if you go the soft boiled route. It can get messy. The spoons are cute, they work to get the yolk out.
