So easy to install. Instructions were clear and to have some control over your thermostat/furnace/AC unit is nice. Especially if you don’t have the ability for an expensive WiFi controlled thermostat. Easy to program and make temporary adjustments if you are home when the thermostat is in a higher setting than you prefer.

My old T-stat was a White Rodgers 1F80-51 that was over 20 years old and worked like a champ. Well, the top shelf Duracell batteries leaked (I've had them leak in the package and they were only about 2 months old, but that's another story) and alas, the old reliable no longer works. So I bought this one because the fan switch is mounted externally. I use the fan frequently in the summer to even out the temperature differential between the first and second floors of the house. Installation was easy and straightforward, programming was similar to the old 1F80-51 so I was off and running....or so I thought. First the T-stat wouldn't do anything...nothing, so I did a factory reset and re-entered all the configuration and programming data and now the A/C worked and so did the ON/AUTO fan function so I thought everything was OK.I switched it over to heat because it's October in Michigan and we can go from A/C to heat in a matter of less than 24 hours. Well, guess what? Furnace won't kick on. I did a factory reset AGAIN, re-entered all the configuration and program data and it still wouldn't work, not even the fan or A/C. I pulled the batteries out, put them back and now it works...success! Not quite so fast, Skippy. I pressed the run program button and went to bed. Got up this morning to a cold house. T-stat shows that the furnace should be running (program temp is higher than actual temp). This time I pulled the batteries first and then put them back in and the furnace started up.I shouldn't have to do this every time I want heating or cooling so this disappointing unit is headed straight back for a refund. I am going to try the next model up that is a more "direct" replacement for the 1F80-51 and we'll see how that works out.I would NOT recommend this unit.

Just what I needed. Easy install. Great price. Accurate temperature. As a bonus, the screen lights up when adjusting the temp. I would definitely recommend and buy again.

This product is a reasonably-priced option for automating your heater usage and making it more targeted. We are using it with an incredibly basic, 20-year-old propane wall-mounted furnace. Previously, it had no "bells and whistles", it was turned on or turned off manually or came on when the room temperature got down to what the old thermostat was set at.The installation booklet is pretty easy to understand, but our old wiring was so basic it didn't match the examples in the booklet. So I'd like to mention how amazingly helpful Emerson's tech people are! I called with a question on a weekend afternoon, and a real live person answered right away. She understood my description of the problem, she clearly explained what to do, and helpfully answered some follow-up questions, too. These days, that's a rare occurrence, unfortunately. Thank you, White-Rodgers/Emerson!

I got this to replace old dial thermostat for my 2-wire boiler system. It is probably one of the cheapest programmable thermostats. Installation is hindered by a less-than-clear instruction booklet and the labels for the wires are microscopic-sized lettering on the unit. The instruction book should provide a better diagram with the terminals more prominently labelled. From prior knowledge, I wanted to look for instructions to have slower cycle times, in which you cut a wire on the circuit board. This instruction is only found in the trouble-shooting section of the instruction booklet. There are some other options available by cutting some wires, not adequately shown in instruction booklet. Programming is very basic, 4 temperature changes per day for 5 weekdays, 4 temperature changes per day for 2 weekend days, separate programming for heat vs cool, that's it. The internal clock is not very accurate, is off time by a few minutes after a few months. When the heat clicks on or off, the unit makes a fairly audible "click," if this was in a bedroom I would think you would not like it.

My previous thermostat was by White-Rodgers/Emerson. It quit responding after 23 years (not bad!). So I looked for the same functionality & brand and found it with this product. I installed it myself using their easy guide. They even had a toll-free help number that I called once just to double-check something. It was quick and simple to install. The thermostat meets our needs and has been working well since I installed it a month ago. I am very glad I found this!
