perfect for wiring up your emgs as it doesn't require the standard buss the switch itself is the buss which saves you space. The switch is designed to be used with strats but you can use it on a non pick guard guitar as long as you make sure measurements are the same or don't mind making modifications to make it fit/function. I installed the switch on my Ibanez rg series just needed to make the slot in body for the switch stem longer so the new switch can fully sway to neck and bridge positions.

A bit pricey, but it does the job wonderfully. Used this on my ESP LTD KH-202 when I was upgrading the pickups. This switch has a built in bus that saves considerable space versus the standalone bus in solderless kit. This results in having plenty of room in the control cavity for the 9v battery. Would recommend.

I got this because I didn't want to solder my 57/66 set to the old 3-way blade switch on my Jackson DXMGT (pre-solderless). Long story short, it fit and works just fine. If you want to know if it'll fit exactly into your control cavity (and/or exiting selector switch area), there's a PDF with instructions and the exact dimensions of the switch itself from the EMG website. In my DXMGT, the PCB sits almost flush to the recessed border of the internal cavity switch area, essentially touching it. So while I was concerned with the depth (being able to put the control cavity cover back on) I should have been more concerned with the width of the switch itself. I got lucky. Just make sure you have enough room. If you can fit it in it's gravy.

Sooooo I have the HETFIELD EMGs and wanted to replace some finiky PRS SE pickups. Well the standard 3 way toggle doesnt work because the SE used a blade style. So this worked perfectly in that sense. Then I had to wire them. The original wiring instructions are for 2v 2t on a standard 3 way and I was completely lost on connecting these things up to the switch. The instructions had a diagram for attaching a standard 3 way toggle and wiring it into the standard EMG bus board. I wanted to get ALL original wiring out of the loop so enter this switch. I did have to visit EMGs website which DID have the exact wiring diagram I needed so if you dont have any documentation for your setup, stay chill and just visit EMG and its there. It was easy easy and gave me the results I wanted. Now there was a downside that I wont knock it for and that is the real-estate that it takes up in the cavity because of the pins and connections. So to fit it into a PRS cavity it did have to be turned "backwards." I could just swap the bridge and neck positions on the pins, but regardless I love how simple this all was to swap the full electronics of my guitar.

EMG solderless 3 way blade will NOT fit standard tele routes, ibanez, or jackson out of the box, so to speak. Control cavity Routes will need to be modified to allow the side mounted active pickup connections to fit and allow room for excess wire. After modification product works as advertised.

Super easy to install and a perfect solution for adding EMG solderless pickups to your guitar without the use of “the hub”! I installed the EMG Zakk Wyld set in an old LTD KH. There was very little room in the body for all the electronics, so I ordered this to use instead of the hub connector that comes with the set and it all fits, including the battery!Switch is nice and crispy and the solderless system is amazing!

This switch is designed for Strats, If you want to install it in a Jackson or Ibanez you may have to make some modifications to the cavity in your instrument. Fender/Squire Strat bodies are thicker than many superstrat style guitars so their cavity is not as deep. I read the other reviews and decided to give it a try anyway. The switch is about a 1/2 inch taller than the OEM in my Jackson JS32 and the route was to size for the old switch. I had to get creative and cut a shallow channel inside the cavity in order for this switch to fit and even then it butts up against the cavity cover so I can't comfortably tighten all the screws. I'm working on a solution for that now. As far as operation, it works as advertised. Plug and play. It was getting to that point that was the hassle. It would have been much faster for me to solder my old switch so if you are handy with a soldering iron you may want to re-use your existing 3 way selector switch and save yourself some hassle.

One thing the description on this failed to mention was that the switch COMES WITH TIPS, both a black one and a white one. Don't make the same mistake i did and buy a switch tip (like $1.50, no big deal, but still a silly mistake). It also comes with a grounding wire and battery wire, and 2 silver screws are included. Just what you need really because EMG sends all the rest of the stuff you need with their pickups, or you can just order it separate. Having never wired a guitar before, i found the setup was extremely easy once i figured out what goes where by finding a few diagrams online for the exact setup i was making. The switch acts as the buss, so there's no need to use the busses that EMG sends with their pickups. You just plug in the pickups, volume pot, battery, and output jack and it's all ready to go. My setup was an EMG 81 and an EMG 60 with one master volume knob and this 3-way switch, so it was very minimal. Still very easy to set up nonetheless. A great buy for the price.
