We got this for my wife’s physical therapy clinic and while it is anatomically, correct in terms of how it’s built. It does little to display the workings of the hip joint and the various ligaments that hold it together.

Great model for learning either in a doctor’s office, university or school. Well made and great quality! Love the hand out that goes with it! Great value!

Fairly weighty and solid. The bone texture is spot on. I think it's life size or pretty close. It seems pretty accurate and a good value. Presents nicely with a base.

Ever wondered what your hip looked like and debated surgically opening it yourself or faking an injury so you could get a sweet 3D CT scan for that hard to interpret view of the inside? Yeah, me neither... But if I ever did, I wouldn't have to go to such extreme measures because I now have this model. I'm no orthopedic surgeon so I can't say how anatomically correct it is, but I believe it's similar to a real human hip and half a pelvis. The bones and the ligaments look real. There is a notable amount of detail but not a whole lot. This model is focused solely on the femoral head and the acetabulum without the cartilage. The tendons show fairly accurately how the femur is held in its socket. There is no meaningful articulation of the joint. All in all, its a great model and I would recommend it to anyone who is debating their own exploratory surgical adventure or any other more meaningful need where a realistic hip model makes sense.

This is a life sized hip joint model that is anatomically accurate. It moves and has flexible ligaments and shows the bony landmarks. Great for anatomy study, teaching or patient education. It is sturdy in its stand. I am happy with this product and would order it again.

This is a very good model for the price. It is of a good weight and feels durable. The stand holds it more more securely than I thought it would from looking at the pictures accompanying the product descriptions. It looks as if it would be unstable, but it is not. The texture of the bone is similar to that of many lab models and the features are well done, although not with the same level of detail as one costing 10 times as much. I especially like that the ligaments are represented in a darker, amber color, making it easier to distinguish them as compared with some models that feature ligaments in a more yellowish color or are even clear. This would be great for an A&P student, especially as time in the lab can be limited. I would have liked to have had this for studying at home when I was taking this class. The product description mentions a detailed instruction guide. Well, there is a single half-sheet sized piece of paper that shows two views of the model. But it isn't much of a guide and it is pretty inadequate for use as a study aid, with just a few of the many features labeled that might be asked about it in a lab class or on a practical exam (and as another reviewer pointed out, some of the labels are actually incorrect). It would be better to use this model with an image from a textbook or online resource to identify the articular surfaces and other markings. The price seems reasonable and the model arrived well packaged and in perfect shape.

I purchased this hip joint model to learn about the different parts of the hip because I have problems with my hips and thought it might help me be a little more informed about how things are working for my hip

Very difficult to use as a model. Especially in an orthopedic office. It does not move like a normal hip.
