Compass seems to work fine. Seems to be fairly durable, it replaced a Coleman compass that I previously owned. I was disappointed that there was no lanyard included with the compass as the pictures show.

Points to magnetic north though my son and I reveresed the polarity while playing with a magnet and made the other end point north. I was able to fix it with the same magnet and it’s pointing where it’s sopose to again

Nothing not to like. Basic compass that works well. Tried a couple other different brands and they were terrible. Happy with this.

It's really nice and the declination reference inside the housing is a handy idea.

I like this compass. It is a basic base plate compass that has has the necessary scales, ruler, easy to read and turn bezel and magnifier. The compass needle swings freely and is well damped. It is also accurate--i checked it against several compasses i own ( including 2 surveyor compasses) and they all read within 1 degree of each other. The only reason I didnt give this a 5 star rating is that it does not have adjustable declination. The declination scale is in the interior of the capsule. There are easy ways to compensate for delineation having an adjustable declination is preferred. Also, the scale is a bit too small for these old eyes but again, any serious user can get around that.

bought this compass to learn how to use one. I was going to buy a super cheap one at first, but then I thought that maybe I should spend a little more and get something of decent quality. For me, this thing was well worth a 5 star review. It's easy to read, fairly durable, and it has a lanyard so that I don't lose it.

Great quality. After reading many reviews, I settled on this one. It is not a lesatic compass, but that is not a necessity all the time anyway. Largest magnifying glass and ruler that is easy to read.
