I know this is a rather specific review but we needed an anchor that fit into the anchor compartment on the Mastercraft NXT20. Bingo! This does the job. Will most likely work well as an anchor also. Hopefully.

This anchor is the best kayak anchor out there. It is small enough to fit in your kayak but more importantly it holds bottom solidly ! Those collapsable mushroom type anchors suck. They always drag and you have to fight with them to get them to hold bottom. Toss this bad boy overboard and you can be sure it will grab bottom and keep you in place . No matter how windy it gets. But as with any anchor , be careful around rock piles or fallen trees etc etc or you will lose it. A great anchor for your kayak !

I use it in 40feet of water on a windy lake with a largely muddy bottom. I tend to motor upwind and just pull it straight up, it doesn’t drag with my 15foot launch and comes up more easily than other models I have had in the past.

Should not buy from this company. They clearly lack the skill set to use a tape measure and so I have little faith in the product. The anchor is described as Heavy duty boat anchor 9 Lb / 4 Kg. Dimension: 19-5/8 inch shank length, 20-3/8 inch stock width, and 10-5/8 inch fluke length. Since I have a restricted opening in my anchor box the fluke length as LISTED (10-5/8) fit perfectly. However, when it arrived not only was it poking out of the box because box was too small, but the fluke was too wide. Not 10-5/8 as described but 12-7/8. It will not fit. How can you measure incorrectly by over 2 inches? Very poor marketing and quality control. Says a lot about the company. The product itself is cheap looking and the welds are scrappy at best.

They are extremely cheaply made. Do not set on their own. If you don't manually set they will set one tooth in and the whole anchor will just bend. Junk.

The anchor is fine. The metal work is awful. The welds are terrible. It’s in the water so who cares as long as it does its job.

I got this to use on my 1984 Chris Craft 251 Catalina, the boat is 25'6" and has a 9'6" beam. It does the job. Like the slip ring that you tie your rope unto, makes anchor retrieval easy.

Switched to this anchor from. Grappling style one. This digs in great and holds the boat with no problems. A little hard to pull up at times, but worth the effort to not worry about drifting.
