I love stimulator patterns and anything with some flash and color. I think people greatly overestimate the pickyness of surface feeding fish and underestimate the value of drawing attention. These flies do exactly that.Obviously this won't do the job for those picky nymphing trout although I did have success using this for a dry-dropper rig (granted; I caught a few small browns exclusively on midge nymph, but I kind of expected that performnace in late spring with no active hatch). I've also used this successfully to catch local bluegill. I fish a variety of local irrigiation holding ponds which produce a large number of very small panfish. I've used these in an wet/emerger setup thanks to the color they've actually caught a fair number of panfish.These are tied well enough with some variation within the batch I recieved. Certainly the quality is on par with anything you'll find at a local flyshop selling mostly imported flies at enormous markups.

These stimulators are tied nicely and put up with a bit of use but they're a bit skimpy and in rough water have a hard time staying above the surface. The hackle in particular is not too full.

Im just getting started in the world of fly fishing. Not knowing anything about flys or which ones work in my area, im just building up a generic stock of flys to try. These are well made and look great. Multiple sizes, but all the same fly essentially.

I am a novice flyfisherman. Took these out to Kern River and tributaries in the last week of July and the rainbows were going crazy for them! I can't speak to their durability because due to my inexperience I abuse and lose flies in short order.

Very nice quality flies. Seem to be tied very well. Will have to hook a few fish to see about durability but pleased with these out of the box.
