This will allow you to make a fire in almost any condition. It's your classic flint and steel style lighter. It's very heavy duty metal, and even has waterproof "O" rings. This comes with some rope that will catch on fire quickly to get you started. Everything is stored inside itself, and has a compass on the bottom. It comes with a small canvas style bag to keep it in. Make sure you are aware that you have to scratch off the black plastic coating in order for the two metals to contact each other and spark. You can see where I scratched the plastic off of the end on mine.

I really like this emergency/camping flint stick. Its so easy to use and works perfectly. You can tell by using it it is a very durable quality piece. This size is great so it doesn't take up much room and I feel like this is a great bang for the buck.

Might work if you dipped the wick with liter fluid or something but pretty much worthless I would use the compartment to store matches only way you will get it to catch fire.
