First off, screws are a thing. But not when it comes to this escutcheon. That’s because the two small holes are not screw holes. Its part of the design for the extremely cheap and flimsy metal. I’ve added a photo of the back so you can see what I’m talking about. Part of the sheet metal is punched in acting as a hinge on one side and as a catch on the other. That’s why there’s two holes. Its just part of being cheap. Fortunately, it doesn’t matter that the holes aren’t designed for screws. I plan to add them anyway; just as a I assume many people that bought this product will be doing. As a note the two holes aren’t chamfered so flat head screws will unfortunately sit proud unless you have a chamfering punch or small screw dimple die. There other diy methods too; but I wouldn’t just screw it down tightly to try and make the screws flush. The metal is so thin it will just warp and collapse.I’m giving it 3.5 stars simply because of its low price per unit.

To cover the opening around pipes through flooring. Works well and looks OK.

I bought these for my bathroom project, and the product is very clean, with beautiful chrome plating to go with the rest of the hardware in my bathroom. However, there's no screws ... am I supposed to get my own? Leaves me to wonder since there are holes for the screws.

The whole point of an escutcheon is to cover a pipe-hole and look "finished". With those two holes that look like screw holes but don't come with screws (and don't need screws; it grips the pipe tightly enough), it doesn't look finished. The visible seam between the halves contributes to the look as well. So it works fine and it's sturdy but I really didn't like the look, of course your taste may vary.

This was used to cover the cutout for the copper water line in drywall. It was a tight fit around the pipe.
