For me, the sound was great, easy to set up, easy to install on speaker stands. Love the blue tooth connectivity.

I am so impressed with these small bookshelf speakers!I bought them to accompany my new Fluance turntable, but they are now my main home audio/home theatre speakers as well. The clarity, “punch” and volume are just incredible.I have the turntable into the main input, my tv optical hooked up to play music through/via my Apple TV, and there is a Bluetooth input as well for streaming directly from my smartphone.I have completely moved my vintage stereo components and speakers into storage, they don’t even compare. These speakers are a dynamite value for the price. And they look GREAT.

Big, loud, clear distinct audio. I like them a lot. Bluetooth connection happens instantly without issue.I've had them for a year and a half and they're working as good as when I purchased them

I have had these speakers for about 3 months. I have played old vinyl records (using a Nuance phono), CD's and blue tooth music. The CD's ranged form a modern CD recording of Yo-Yo Ma Bach cello suites and a 20 year old CD with Maria Calls opera arias to Blue Tooth (Sitting on the Dock" to vinyl recording of 60's Favorite Songs. Verdict: Superb. I have never enjoyed my music so much; I can actually understand the words of the songs and orchestral hear instruments with great clarity. These speakers have an additional advantage in that the controls for mode change and on/off are on the front of the source speaker and are visibly color differentiated. For me this is a big plus. The remote also has a treble/bass equalizer; this is very useful given the variations in bass/treble in modern recordings. I doubt whether a woofer (which can be added) would give the listener much extra benefit, unless you want to hear the lowest bass note, which are in most cases likely inaudible to the human ear unless one is sitting on top of the cellist! Of course, the recordings and reproductions these days are so good that it is most unlikely that the listener could replicate the experience in a real concert music unless she/he were on the conducter's podium It is also worth bearing in mind that occasionally if the sound reproduction does not meet your expectation this is quite likely due to a less than perfect original disc, rather any shortcoming in the speakers. Recommendation: a great buy well worth the money

Audio equipment designers have to make many decisions to fit their price point. Fluance hit all the right notes in their choices for the Ai41. They chose wood (MDF) over metal or plastic. They utilize a 5" woofer instead of a 4" or 3.5" woofer. This speaker system has gold posts to connect the speakers instead of those brittle clips other manufacturers employ. The speakers are internally braced and have bass and treble controls on the remote rather than no such controls and someone else's algorithm. They have 90 watts total power instead of 50 or 70. All of these choices enhance their sound quality. Plus, they look great, and you get your choice in finishes! In addition, the RCA inputs make using either a turntable with built-in phono-pre (like a Fluance's) or a cd player viable. Check 'em out!

I've been using it for a month and very satisfied with the sound quality. In a small room they sound clear and detailed, thanks to big drivers. No concerns regarding the build quality. Nicely complements the decor. Remote control is simple.

Great looking small speaker, very nice build quality. The fidelity and clarity at medium volume levels is great for a small speaker. Not enough bass at times, I do recommend a sub woofer. The volume is limited however. I have these in my home office and they are perfect for background music when I’m working. At times I want crank up the volume but these speakers do not deliver on that. The Bluetooth works flawlessly. I will be keeping these because they meet my needs 80-90% of the time.

Short version:Expectations must be managed. These speakers are by no means "professional grade" however you're paying about a third of what would be deemed a professional price. And for that price you're gaining a very clean sound. A tasteful and neat design, and a level of convenience that other bookshelf speakers can be lacking in. If you're in the market for some bookshelf speakers and your budget is under £300, these are a safe, solid choice.Longer version:So! I've made a point to hold off from reviewing these until the speakers have had some time to settle in. These speakers are not as well published as similar offerings from Kanto and Audioengine, I had been researching speakers for my desk for quite some time and one day I just happened to stumble across these. Upon further research, Fluance is a Canadian brand established in 1999, famed for their Vinyl turn tables. The Sound: Very clean, High notes have a brightness to them without being at all harsh on the ears, these speakers are very easy to listen to. Vocals and midrange tones are clear and again, very clean, perhaps with a slight warmth? Though that could equally be summed up to your equaliser. Bass has a good roll off and id responsive, however of course, with many mid size to smaller bookshelf speakers, its not as punchy as it could be, If these are going to be your "forever Speakers" then i'd suggest supplementing with a subwoofer if/when convenient. I certainly plan on it. Yet its not a must have.Design: Its too much to ask for a real wood finish at this price, however the veneer finish is a nice matte wood grain effect. No visible glue marks or seams, Overall these are probably the prettiest speakers in their class. They do lack any kind of speaker grill mounting options, so be careful if you've got small children that might poke the tweeters inside out.Creature comforts: Easily the dumbest yet best feature of these speakers is you have the ability to turn off the darn status LED! So many speakers ruin their clean looks by having some obnoxious green or blue light to tell you its turned on! The Fluance speakers allow you to turn off this status light, allowing them to maintain a subtle and classical appearance. Beyond that they come with a simple remote with all the main functions one could need, plenty of speaker wire so you can really space them apart if you want to.Cons?: Of course the lack of really punchy bass is to be expected, there's little way to avoid that without tampering with the clean and crisp sound these speakers produce. A subwoofer is definitely a purchase on the horizon. Would have been nice to have a USB input as well. Some computers can have a bit of hiss if you're connecting via 3.5mm jack.

These are pretty great. I am able to use them with bluetooth with my laptop or phone, use them as additional surround sound from my tv using optical and you can add a sub which i haven't yet. Honestly, they have a pretty full sound as is. My one complaint is i think they could go louder especially if the bass is turned down but they have a clear cut off. Some sources they seem lackluster while others quite loud but still clear and full so the sound is always great. Turning down the bass doesn't allow them to push any harder though s you get what you get. I have tried them with a DAC I have laying around to pump the bass on them and they become very alive for cinematic use with this low end rumble. It's not so much a sub sound, but a very solid lower mid range that does shake the walls a bit. They don't get as loud, but this is likely due to the source being RCA in this case vs the optical. This sound is NOT attainable without an additional EQ source and its something I use as an extension to my tv's sound and not the main source, but it is impressive. Honestly, these are great quality, look great, are well built speakers with awesome sound. They are just limited a bit by the built in DSP and amp, maybe the bigger ones fair better. I will prolly get the ai61 as I want to see the diff and i'm very happy with these. I have no regrets (this is rare with sound equipment) and they literally connect to almost everything. No speaker is perfect, but pound for pound these have impressed me for the size and I would buy them again without question.

These are good speakers . They are not perfect , but -- they are far better than other "E" type or even "K" type of speakers commonly seen in reviews and here at Amazon.Build quality is excellent , size is perfect , so why not 5 stars ???The truth is NO speaker in this price range should ever get 5 stars . It is acoustically impossible to get full range sound from a 5" driver and a 1" tweeter .However , these are amazing at making you think they can !! So what am I saying ???? Simple --the Fluance Ai41 is , for the money , one little power house of a speaker {`s } .They image very well and are as close to full range upper mid band and upper band frequency response that you can get for their size .Also having the ability to trim the bass or treble is also very handy , although once the speakers have been 'run-in' and your ears become accustomed to their sound , you will find a flat response is more than adequate .I nice feature is the high quality remote , very nice . Also nice to have both digital and analog inputs .Bluetooth is there if you need it and works rather well considering the limitations of bluetooth .The volume range is 0 _ to _ 30 blinks on the right LED indicator .Personally I have found with a high quality sound source anywhere between 15 and 20 blinks is plenty loud enough .Good speakers for the money !!This should be considered a " Dreamer _ Must Buy "
