I was looking for something to replace traditional reeds since I was splitting a lot of them. I was recommended to try Forestone reeds, so I bought one in 2.5 strength and a Legere full-synthetic one, also in 2.5.I was able to adjust to this reed very easily, and the sound was very close to what I expect from a natural reed. Time will tell on the durability of it with my playing, but I am very happy with it so far.Yes, the price is high, but for me, splitting 2-3 reeds a week, it will be worth it if it will last. The Legere had a rough or brash sound to me, and was harder for me to play on.Caveat: I am a part-time bari sax player in a community band, playing on a Chinese bari that was a school horn and treated appropriately. I am not an expert player, though I have been a musician for 60+ years.

I have used forestone reeds on alto and tenor and I like them fine for practicing. I tried 3 different mouthpieces with this reed on bari sax and they all sounded bad in different ways. My berg sounded super thin, no bottom....when I put the reed on my meyer 5, I actually checked the bell to see if I had something stuffed in it. This reed works better on my bass clarinet then bari sax....and it is a bari sax reed.

I bought this thinking I was gonna get more than one. My son does not like it or how it plays. Can I return It?

I love this product. I have not gone back to cane reeds since I started using them. They last so much longer and they do not sound like a synthetic reed. It sounds exactly like a cane reed would sound. I highly recommend this product. You won't be disappointed. The price is definitely worth it.Stephanie

Picture was very misleading. There was only 1 reed. I should have been more diligent in my research. The reed itself so far works great. The texture takes a little getting used to. But sound and playability is great

You either like it or you don't... I found it too hard to use, but it is usable.

My son has been playing sax for 6 years now, and this is his favorite reed. We have tried several, but this one makes the most beautiful music.....worth the price.

I play #2 baritone sax reeds, so I ordered a Forestone #2. It seems to need a lot more air than natural reeds. Tone quality is good, I still prefer natural reeds over this. But it is nice to have a permanent backup solution always in my case, so I recommend every player has some of these around. I'll try the other styles to see if I can find one that needs less air. Buy this product.
