I was so excited to get this pen, but it's always breaking. The pencil part comes unscrewed and then I have to open it and screw it back on. The blue ink was dry when I received it. Not with the money.

Extremely versatile one solution writing instrument.This instrument lives well in shirt or jacket pocket, but will not stand up to being dropped into the pocket of cargo pants/shorts. It will tend to unscrew itself, and/or accidentally push out and lock into writing position, one of the pens or the pencil. Pens, no issue, just clean off the lint. Pencil can start to come apart. The pencil shaft has some screw in components, and those can unscrew. Easy enough to screw back. Paint for the different color inks does rub off. These are all sort of negative comments, but really, if not treated harshly, this pen writes well, and is way better than having several pens in your pocket. The refills are easy to replace, especially trhough Amazon!So all in all, for what it is, a good triple function pen + mechanical pencil with the desireable 0.5mm lead.

I was excited to get this pen, but the pencil is hard to use. It is hard to get the lead in the pencil to move forward so I can write with it.

This pen is truly multifunctional, offering colored inks plus a mechanical pencil -- all in a single sleek design. I must admit that I was confused at first, until I carefully read the operating instructions for the pen. I quickly mastered how to shift from red to blue to black inks. The secret is that the color changing mechanism depends upon the use of gravity. Simply hold the pen so that the desired color mark (located on the center barrel of the pen) points towards the ceiling. Then simply press the plunger at the top of the pen and voila! The desired color ink pen will emerge and you can begin writing. Retract the ink pen by pressing the small rectangular black button. If you need a visual demonstration of how to operate the gravity mechanism, there is a YouTube online demo for this pen.
