Very versatile tool that has options to be carried or strapped to a belt. The blade is very sharp. We keep it in our sxs for riding and it has come in handy numerous times.

Overall this is a really well built and durable tomahawk/hatchet. I have used it on smaller branches and shrub while camping and it works very well. The design has a very comfortable grip, it’s compact in size but still large enough to do the job.I definitely think by comparison to others out this this a well built good deal for the cost. The sheath I am not a fan of, it’s hard to take off the tomahawk and overall just there. Again the blade is well worth it, I just tossed the sheath to the side because I don’t see the value add in it at all.

I bought this “tomahawk” because I was looking for a small, lightweight axe that I could carry while hiking or camping without much of a weight penalty. This product fits the bill and is nicely made. The handle is made from some kind of high-impact plastic that is lightweight but so far seems strong enough to hold up to normal use. The blade is fixed to the handle via 2 hex screws in the top third of the handle, suggesting that the blade has a section that extends down into the handle for strength. The blade itself is sharp and features integrated tools. The back end of the blade is ground to a point which is useful for piercing or snagging objects. A slot cut into the blade is notched to act as several metric sizes and a ¼” standard size of hex wrench which does work but is, in practice, of limited utility due to the size and thickness of the blade: Only hex bolts/screws standing proud of the surface they’re screwed into with no other close obstructions will be accessible to this tool. The top of the blade is also cut to have a bottle opener that works and is more useful. A small carabiner-type clip is also found in the top of the blade and is at best useful for hanging the tool or pulling a lightweight line along; the clip isn’t strong enough to be trusted with more than the weight of the tool.As for actual “tomahawk” use: Well, I haven’t tried throwing this thing yet. If I do, I’ll update this review with the results. Finally, the tomahawk comes with a nylon sheath to cover the blade when not in use. The sheath slides on from the handle and has a snap cover over the top of the blade to keep the sheath on. The back of the sheath has a nylon belt loop, but it’s fairly tight and narrow, so this will work fine with lashing or compression straps on a backpack, but not so much on a waist belt.Overall, though, this is a nice, relatively lightweight axe for hiking or camping that will be useful for chopping kindling, hammering stakes (using the flat side of the blade), and for any other tasks a small hand-axe could be used for.

This hatchet is pretty sharp, but not very heavy. Comes with a cover for storage. I would like if it was a little heavier to get more momentum when chopping things. The low weight does make it nice for carrying though. It's a toss up. Light weight is great for hiking any kind of distance, but a little more weight would be nice to make it more effective.

The hatchet works well. As soon as I opened it, I went to the woods and started chopping. I went through a 2" live tree that needed to be removed, several small water sprouts & suckers, and 4 woody poison ivy vines that had 3-4" diameters. The hatchet cut through them with ease. The head is 3/16" hardened metal (steel, I assume). The front end has the blade, of course. The back side is a pick. The built-in wrench and can opener will probably never be used. The handle is strong plastic, bolted in 3 places to the head. The handle is basically straight, with a bit of flare at the end to help with grip. The grooves also help with grip, and the wrist strap adds some security. I didn't have any trouble maintaining a grip, at least not before my arm started getting tired. The sheath is made of woven nylon, typical of military bags and gear. It provides good protection for the blade. It is made to fit the blade perfectly, which unfortunately means the snaps at the top get in the way when trying to remove the hatchet from the sheath. In addition to the two snaps, there is a velcro flap that closes the sheath too. For my general use around the house & storage in the garage, I'll probably never use the snaps. But if I were packing for a trek, I might use them for additional security.Review for: Freelander Tomahawk, Tactical Hatchet Axe with Bottle Opener, Multi-Size Hex Wrenches and Sheath, Tactical Tomahawk with Spike, Tomahawk Axe for Adventures, Survival, and CampingASIN: B0DKBT883Q
