The beam itself is nice. Good weight and level and can be. Getting the prestuck inferior sandpaper off to use my own was a challenge. Hint: 99% alcohol works better than mineral spirits. Now one of my fav fret leveling tools.

It works but the sandpaper degrades very quickly. Buy a set of adhesive sandpaper in various grits you want along with the beam. You'll need it. Or buy a level w/diamond abrasion. Or a straight, high quality metal file. It will probably save you time and money long term.

My teen son wanted this to do some great work on his bass. He's been very pleased at how well it worked and the ease of use. Took him a minute to find the labels for each grit (they are inside), but it was pretty easy to tell by touch as well.
