35 millimeters... Allow me to explain... I bought these Freud C600 blades because that's the brand that was installed into this !OLD! Ryobi AP-10 wood planer that I acquired 3 years ago... I never did plug it in to see if it worked until 3 weeks ago... It's got a green button and a red button... I put a thumb on each one so I could shut it back off quick if necessary... You know, metal fragments or flying bolts are generally detrimental to human existence... I was surprised to see that it works, but it sure is used and abused... I've decided to refurbish it with new blades, new roller chains, gears, grease, and a good cleaning... The old blades are hammered and pitted and surface-rusty...These new Freud blades (or knives) come in a blister-pack, and they are SHARP as razors... I watched my fingers real close while handling these... I think Diablo miter saw blades are a Freud brand, and they are lethal to your fingers also... HANDLE WITH CAUTION...Anyway, when you mount these blades to the steel plate (before the drum), I read on several woodworking sites that the measurement from the blade's sharp edge back to the inside edge of the steel plate should be 35 millimeters... There's 2 little screws that hold the blade to the mounting plate... I used some miniature popsicle sticks to put between the blade and the turned-up portion of the steel plate while I tightened the screws at exactly 35 millimeters on the ruler... Then the plate/blade gets mounted to the drum with 6 screws...For those who do not own an AP-10 or AP-12 Ryobi planer, then this explanation is just water under the bridge... I will update this explanation/review when I get it back together and running...UPDATE - 1 YEAR: I don't use this planer everyday, but frequently when needed... After 1 year, these blades are still cutting pretty good... About a month after I bought and installed them, I hit a hidden screw in the wood - BANG - it said, but it kept cutting... I immediately shut it down, unplugged it, and examined my new blades... They each had a deep nick, which has made itself known ever since... But if I run the board thru a second time without changing the depth, the "anti-nick" disappears (the "nick" being concave, and the "anti-nick" being convex)... I've learned to live with it, but as I update this review, I am also ordering a new set......GOOD DAY...

Used these on a old makita 2030, had to grind a little of both ends but works great. Brought the old planer back to life!

It is Freud and made in Italy.... But it is crudely sharpenened. Bad grinder swirls... Burrs on the edge.It would take me hours to get the grinder marks out to where i could really start to sharpen it. Start with a 100 grit stone and work up.I thought i was in luck since it was not made in china. I thought Freud was better than this.

I tried to plane some cedar 2x4s on my old Ryobi AP-10. It was deafeningly loud and was not leaving a smooth surface. Also the wood did not want to go steadily through the planer. It would stall and I'd have to push or pull it through. I've always put off installing new blades since I've lost those plastic jigs that help you position the blades and was worried about positioning. I finally bought these Freud blades and watched a couple of videos on YouTube and gave it a shot. I carefully observed the position of the old blades on the holders and saw that the edge is 1-15/32" from the back edge of the holder. I carefully put the new blades on making sure they were perfectly parallel with the holder and the correct distance from the back. This has worked like a miracle. The planer is now quiet, leaves the surface very smooth and pulls the wood through with no hesitation. It's so quiet now I could hardly tell if any wood was being planed off when I was doing the edges of the 2x4s.

Bought these as replacements for the original blades which have become dull through years of use. The new blades work fine and leave a really nice planed finish. I bought these to use while the old blades are being resharpened, which usually takes a week or more turn-a-round.

I had some clear heart redwood 2x6 deck boards that I wanted to clean up to use to replace some decking. I decided to "tune up" my old Ryobi AP-10 planer that I purchased in the mid 80's. The power cord was in need of replacing because the jacket was falling apart. I still had the instructions that came with the planer so I figured out how to take it apart to replace the cord. I also gave the planer a thorough cleaning and lubing while it was apart. Now all that it needed to was a new set of planer knives. I found the Freud C600 knives and ordered them. They arrived quickly and in perfect shape. Installing the knives went quickly because I still had the Ryobi blade alignment tool. The planer now performs just like new and made short work of cleaning up the redwood.I took the original knives to the local sharpening shop and now have a spare set ready to go. The nice part about the Ryobi AP-10 planer is that you CAN resharpen the knives.
