We bought this item to convert our grill without having to purchase another gas grill. The only issue, it was a little larger than the grill we were converting, once we took off the handles it went right into the the grill.

Perfect for grill tops. Made well. Strong and durable. Cooks well, easy to clean. Fits over grill top. Works well. Worth the cost.

The grill is easy to use, gives an even heating surface, maintains more juices in the meat and is very easy to clean

We have really been enjoying more griddle cooking at the lake so wanted to convert the small gas grill at home to a griddle. Hadn't used the grill in a couple years as the smoker has been the outdoor cooker of choice. Wasn't wanting to pay this much money but I like that it looked like it would get the griddle plate down closer to the burners for a hopefully more efficient cook.Heavy, 7ga metal with accurately formed sides and simple welds. Of course the crisp corners means they will never get clean, but I kinda expected that. Removed the TRU radiant grates and the drip covers below them. My model had two mechanical thermometers on the front and the probes would not let the griddle drop in to place. Lift up on the front of the gauge and the probes will come out. No loss as both were stuck at different temperatures between 200F and 500F. If you position the griddle as far forward as possible, the rear will hang on the grill by the rear flange of the griddle. If you hold it up and push it back before dropping it down into position, it will sit on the pins that stick out that held up the burner covers. Don't know if it was intentional but it might allow you to keep the rear up a tiny bit and prevent scrambled eggs from running out the slot at the rear. There was room on the sides so I turned the handles around. They don't sit flush with the inside of the griddle but I think it will give more room to maneuver over the cooking area. More important on this small two burner unit than bigger grills.I only have two concerns:I'll be curious to see how long the coating will last with smashburger heat but it does seem to be a premium coating just handling it during installation.I'm used to working a griddle that is more open on top. This sunken arrangement, while better for heat transfer, may be more difficult to access for flipping burgers and corralling eggs or pancake batter.

Got this griddle insert for my CharBroil Performance 2 to make smashburgers and steaks. It's been perfect for high heat searing without smoking up the kitchen. High quality heavy construction has no problem getting north of 400 degrees quickly.

Description states what units this will work with, THIS IS NOT UNIVERSAL with units listed. Too small for my grill - unit returned

I’m so happy I got this. Ok, maybe it’s not so exciting for you… but I’ve always wanted a nice griddle like this. I’ve always admired these short order cooks who can whip out smash burgers, flapjacks, omelets, onions, etc so quick and efficiently… no cumbersome pans either. Just a nice big steel surface area. This is exactly that. It’s PERFECT! Nice, decent 4mm thickness with a non-stick enamel surface. (I don’t really care for non-stick - you don’t need it if you know what you’re doing. Still, it’s enamel, so I’m fine with it.) Convenient handles to lift with and even a couple little silicon mitt tips for that purpose. This is heavy, so make sure you get the right size. Save yourself some heartache and measure first… don’t assume!
