My 8 year old loves this. It’s different than a regular Rubicks cube, and he enjoys going back and forth between them.

The wife got me this for Christmas. Been wanting to try out a gear cube for a while. The cube turns as follows. When you turn one of the sides a half turn the center will turn a quarter turn and each of the edge pieces rotates a third of the way around.Didn't take too long to figure out how to solve. Easier to solve than a normal 3x3, but does not solve the same way, so it offers a unique challenge for those who like to figure out how to solve puzzles.Turns pretty smoothly. Can only do half turns because the center will do a 1/8 turn on quarter turns so the center won't line up. This can make it a little tough to mix up without looking at the cube, but it' can still be done. Cool thing is you can turn the cube by twisting the edges.

This is one of the coolest Rubik's cubes I've ever seen! It doesn't rotate in a grid like normal. The edges twist and rotate. It's a different kind of challenge. It's a unique gift that looks awesome!

Thought it would move just like a 3x3, except with different looking face, but the edge pieces actually rotate as they are scrambled. Very cool.
