I purchased this for a 2009 Hyundai Sonata Limited and it works as it should. Compared to the original one that the car still had, it is slightly shorter but is a direct replacement.

MANY Hyundai and Kia cars going back years have a known defect with the brake switch, alot of them are covered under a recall. Unfortunately mine was not, but at $12.99 who cares. The defective brake switch can toss a ESC and check engine light, also your cruise control will fail to work. It can be difficult to notice exactly when it fails for obvious reasons (your inside the vehicle). I noticed mine was dead when I used my remote start, drove to work and when I removed the key the vehicle stayed running. Remote car starters shut down when they see a valid brake signal, or when the runtime expires whichever comes first. Installing this is a 5 minute job, don't be afraid to tackle it. Look above the pedal and you'll see the switch, start by unplugging the 4 pin connector going into it. Then you'll need a open end wrench 12mm if I remember correctly. There's a 2nd nut on the outside of your existing switch that doesn't come with the new one. Remove thar nut and slide the switch out the back. The nut that comes on the new switch needs to be moved to match the position its in on your old switch. Then you simply slide the new switch into place. Be aware there are grooves on the sides of the switch that allow it to slide back in exactly how it should without spinning in circles when you tighten it up. After doing that the only "hard" part is getting the outside nut back on. To do this you'll have to press the brake petal down and start threading it on by hand. Once that is snug keep the pedal depressed as you tighten the nut with the open end wrench. Don't over torque it, just nice and tight. Plug the connector back in and you're all set.Hope this helps someone save some cash.
