I bought this to replace the monolights in my travel studio kit for food photography. I tested it at home then packed it for a trip. Saved 10 pounds with two of these vs monolights. Works great. You can modify it to get hard or soft light. Fires fast and consistent.

I typically use a V1 flash however more light is always essential in photography. With S-bracket, the versatility of this flash is endless. Functionality and flash quality is second to none and this unit is easy to use. The overall sturdiness is amazing and I plan on buying another one to account for fill light depending on the environmental or studio conditions.

Started with a 600 but after using this for a month I bought 2 more 200’s!!! Excellent value. Battery is great. Flash power indoor is more than enough. Outdoor in bright daylight it can still produce but you will need higher settings. The real value for me is the compact size for traveling. Hopping on an airplane with 2 of these and a pair of clamps is a breeze! Now I can have powerful flash with me in any city at anytime! Great buy, don’t hesitate do it!!!

Pros:PortableComes with its own rechargeable batteryEasy to setupEasy to swap front bulbOnce linked to your remote, stupid easy to adjust settingsCons:Had to watch YT video to understand all settingsNeed to buy the protector for the bare bulb if you’re packing with multiple in a different case.Need to buy silicone boot protector (this is a #1 must buy)S Bracket setup has light leak when using bare bulb and bowens mounted modifiersModeling lamp is only available on fresnel bulb and not that bright.Love both of mine. Can’t recommend them enough.I’m sure I left out some info but love these for off camera flash purposes.

This flash is powerful, portable and works easily across brands. The accessories are terrific, especially the extension cable that lets you put the heavier part of the unit in a waistpack and just the flash tube on the camera or a bracket. I have three of them. Now here’s the rub. The on-off switch broke on one of mine, turning it into a paperweight until repaired. This seems to happen a lot, and there are several excellent YouTube videos on how to open it and fix it once it fails to turn on. If you don’t want to perform surgery on your unit, the easiest thing to do is leave the switch on all the time, and pop the battery out when you want to turn it off. Battery removal is almost as easy as using the switch and saves the weak switch from failing in a way that disables your flash at a critical time. This switch issue is a shame, because the product is otherwise one of the best photo equipment purchases you can make.

Don't laugh now..Im actually a professional photographer, since the nineties I have been hauling lumedyne systems, norman systems, you name it systems. This year I got tired of using the wired systems at a couple zoo-events I do each year.Ordered a handful of the AD200's and its love all the way.1. 500 full-pop clicks per charge. honestly that goes a long way.Sooo Im using two in 6 feet reflectors for main lights with the bare-bulbs.. ended up shooting at roughly 1/3 power ish.Assigned the main lights to group APopped a third on a tall stand behind the stage for hair lights.. this one on group CUsed the remote on my camera, manage power from the remote.. = AWESOME because there are no running around..just pop, look at screen, when it looks good on the test-shot-dummy you are done. Finally, 6 of these literally fit in a cardboard 6pack that normally holds beers. this is smaller than one of my norman strobe heads.....Soooo.. yeah these are NOT as powerful as norman strobe kids.. who is kidding who.My solution at this time is, I grabbed 6, and 3D printed a quick dual-up mount that holds two, still not quite there, but close enough. lots of lights, super compact, travels well..Your only questions should be, like the candies, you should get a few because they are so wonderful.

I shoot mainly landscapes, but when I shoot portraits, I tend to do them outdoors. A regular speedlight isn't going to get the job done in many daylight situations. The AD200 does a great job. It's great to shoot 1/8000th of a second at f1.8. The fact that you can buy an accessory to add a second AD200 to make it one bright light, or the ability to split them up and synch them together makes this system pretty flexible and adds incredible value to my kit. I don't want to lug around heavy lights. I'm planning on taking this to Italy with me (It's slightly bigger than a speedlight), a compact stand and compact softbox to get some portraits. It's nice to get professional results from such a small and inexpensive light.
