Even though it is only 6" thick, this is a very comfortable futon mattress. However, it is very expensive and it is worth shopping around for a similar but less expensive option.

This mattress is treated with toxic chemicals, all futon mattress after 2018 are treated with a non specific 16 CFR Part 1633 assortment chemicals. I had purchased this mattress made the mistake unpacking in my house, mattress was soaked soggy left sticky residue on anything it touched also stinks unbelievably. With in twenty minutes had a rash all down my arms & my face was having trouble breathing, I went to the emergency room hospital this was a horrible experience. Stated previously mattress left sticky residue on anything it touched this does not come off had to dispose of my carpet the bottom of my feet were turning red & itching, blankets pillows futon cover disposed. Washed all wood surfaces multiple times, it ended up costing over 2000 dollars to replace items that were contaminated. Had mattress on back porch before paying to have it removed, every time the door was opened the smell would make me feel like vomiting. Mattress is sealed when it arrives after its opened the smell will permeate your house, this will take weeks to dissipate. Legally Amazon should be stating that mattress is 16 CFR Part 1633 - STANDARD FOR THE FLAMMABILITY go to any other website this information is disclosed. For a month replacing cleaning then order an all natural wool mattress that was not treated with chemicals do to the fact its made of wool which is an naturally fire retardant from a specialty mattress manufacturer at cost of 800 dollars. Contacted amazon they did refund me for mattress but took no responsibility for my suffering or the damaged their product caused, I actually thought about suing. I was aware of 16 CFR Part 1633 - STANDARD FOR THE FLAMMABILITY before purchase made sure when ordering this was not in the description, avoided other websites that sell mattresses with it their description. According to government web site 16 CFR Part 1633chemicals are safe, theirs a long list of chemicals that can be combined to created this standard used in any combination quantity its safe.
