My first experience with UHMWPE was with soft shackles, and I’m still surprised how something so light can be so strong. I tend to prefer the 3/8 in. ropes, because it seems to be a sufficient capacity for anything I’d use it for (i.e. general winching, pulling trees, safety, vehicle recovery). And I also think that 50 ft. is a good length.Like any non-steel rope, the Achilles’ heel of these is fire (or heat from high tension on a pulley). But unlike steel rope, and others, these don’t store much energy under tension. So combined with their light mass, the risk of a “clothesline” injury from a rope snap is far less. Also, like any rope, bad knots can create weak points in the rope, reducing the strength, so use with care. And it appears that this rope has also been coated with a urethane lacquer additional wear and UV resistance. (You can tell by the dark sheen and initial stiffness in the rope). No manufacturing discrepancies observed, and the loop splices/weaves seems good. …and the rope protective sheath is a welcomed inclusion.Quality rope.

A good replacement choice if you're running a short drum winch like my Warn 9.0RC which is only 50' to begin with. The stainless thimble looks good, the rope measures out and it looks good. The attachment point, the smashed ferrule at the drum end of the rope is not drilled and will need to be to bolt it in place if that is your method of attachment. There is a protective sleeve for keeping the rope off of obstacles like trees or rock BUT there is not heat shield for the first wrap on the drum. If you have one it would be wise to add it to this rope before installation. It should be included as a standard part of the package. The following reference "while the winch hook is made of heavy forged steel for extra strength and durability" suggests there is a hook in the package. There is not. Further, some language in one of the images suggests this is a good extension rope. It would work in that capacity but would need a thimble at both ends which it does not have. At the time I ordered it the price was

Good quality rope, but I think I received a factory second. There are about 7 or 8 burn marks throughout the rope. None appear to have compromised the integrity of the rope; they are mostly cosmetic blemishes. The splice was done well, except that the taper was not properly done to my liking. The braids should have been unwound and cut off stepping back in pairs to create the nice taper.

This is my idea of a quality winch rope. The breaking strength is higher than anything I will ever need. It is soft, smooth, and flexible. A lot of dedicated winch ropes sold today are stiff and inflexible, making it harder to tie and untie knots. I bought one of those stiff, plastic ropes and it did not lay well on my winch drum. Due to its limpness, this rope lays flat on the winch drum even when retracted without a load. It comes with an eye on one end and a 4 foot long protective cover.

The Yoojahow Gray Synthetic Winch Rope 3/8" x 50ft is designed for off-road enthusiasts who need a durable and high-strength winch line. : With a breaking strength of 26,500 lbs, this winch rope is well-suited for heavy-duty tasks. It's ideal for off-road vehicles like 4WDs, SUVs, trucks, ATVs, and UTVs, as it can handle challenging recovery situations. The synthetic rope is lightweight, making it easier to handle than traditional steel cables. This also reduces the risk of injury if the rope snaps under tension, as it doesn’t store as much energy as steel. At 50ft, this length is a good balance for most recovery situations. It's long enough to provide adequate reach but not so long that it becomes cumbersome to manage. The protective sleeve adds an extra layer of durability, shielding the rope from abrasions, UV damage, and wear caused by rough terrain. This increases the rope's longevity and ensures it remains effective through prolonged use. It’s suitable for a wide range of vehicles and winches, making it a great option for multiple types of off-road adventures. The Yoojahow Gray Synthetic Winch Rope offers solid performance for off-road recovery needs, combining high strength, ease of use, and a protective sleeve to extend its lifespan. It is a reliable choice for users looking for a synthetic alternative to traditional steel cables.

Perfect length to use with my Badlands 12,000 winch as an extension rope. WHY perfect length when the Badland winch uses 85 ft of winch line - 10 ft minimum of winch line must remain on spool to provide proper pull strength leaving 75' max available. When using an extension rope, it must of a length shorter than your main rope to permit removal when winch has extracted the object, then remove the extension and re-hook with the 75' of available main rope. If extension rope is longer, you run the risk of running too much line into your winch spool preventing the removal of the winch line. I use a soft shackle to connect ropes so I have a visual identification of need to remove extension rope.
