This digital microscope is a great device for play and learning as well as a great tool for things like examining coins. My daughter had been given a similar one for Christmas and she has loved using hers to examine everything from butterfly wings and different types of cloth to different leaves and insects to random areas on the carpet. I was glad to come across one that I could get and use myself. I have been there while she showed me her curious finds and it was even more fun to look at things right beside her to share. There are 3 buttons on the scope that make for easy controls. One of the top buttons controls the 4 different levels of brightness of the lights and gives the user the ability to turn the lights completely off. The other top button controls the 4 different strengths of digital magnification. The round button on the body turns the device on and off as well as allows the user to snap a picture or video quickly of what’s being seen through the lens. There is a micro SD card included which fits into one of the slots beneath the head that holds the screen. The scope will only take pictures and video of what’s being seen through the lens and does not have a camera or ability to take them otherwise (science over selfies with this device). The lights are contained within the body and are in a ring around the lens. This allows for a nice uniform illumination of what’s being looked at rather than causing any “hotspots” of brightness. This is a great feature since I use it to look at coins. The scope is rechargeable and comes with a USB-C charging cable. It scope does not come with a charging “brick” to plug the cord into the wall. The device charges pretty quickly and has a power level that displays on the screen. The scope is great in that it has two different major magnification functions which are activated simply by the rotating focus ring on the body of the scope. The scope is capable of 1000x magnification. If you rotate the focus ring all the way towards the left while looking at something, you can slowly begin rotating the ring back to the right and you get a lower level of magnification that works well for looking at larger subjects and being able to hold the scope further away from it. If you rotate the focus ring all of the way towards the right while looking at something and begin to slowly rotate the ring back to the left, you get the higher optical magnification capability. It lets you see things in a manner that you would get from a more professional level microscope. You can use the top magnifying button with either of these major settings to give you even closer images. I have found the scope to be very helpful in examining coins for errors and small details that just can’t be seen with my naked eye or even with my jeweler loupe. The head that contains the screen moves forward and backward over a good distance both ways. The head does not rotate to the left and right though from where the power button is facing you. The lights and digital screen are bright and the screen gives clear images. The 2 major optical magnification settings found by rotating the focus ring give the best images. The digital magnifications can help show a bit deeper into an image but the higher you go the more you lose clear focus of details. The one thing that I find lacking is that the display does not have a reading on the display to tell you what strength the lights are on at any time. You have to cycle through them to figure out which level you are on. I have found that the lights can be too bright to see some details of subjects and especially coins if you go past the first level of light strength. I have found the scope to be very helpful and I always keep it close by when I’m going through coins to look for tiny errors or details. It has a fun shape and when you add the ability to take pictures and videos as you learn and explore, it makes for a great little device that I recommend highly.

This is a fine value and something kids and adults can both enjoy. The swivel-tilt display is a great feature and a good reason to buy this model. The built-in battery is charged by a USB cable. The optics are very good, though not quite professional quality. The 2" color display screen is sharp, but would be more useful if it was 3". The screen is 8x the size of the field of view and when using the 4x electronic zoom it is 32x. The images are more impressive on a larger computer screen. The resolution can be set from 2mp to 16mp. At 16mp the detail is fuzzy, so 5 or 8mp will be sufficient. Videos can be recorded at up to 1080p resolution. It comes with a 32gb memory chip, 6 slides, and a tiny yet useful instruction booklet. It will take some time to learn to use all the settings and features. The most important thing is you can press the button on the handle for 2-3 seconds to turn it on or off. Pressing it briefly will select menu options. Turning the ribbed area of the handle will change the focus. Treat it gently and it should last a long time. The photos and videos you make can be copied via the USB cable. No special software is required. You can also operate it live from your PC or Mac using HiView software downloaded from: HVScam.comClick on the flag in the top right corner to see the website in English. There is no optical zoom and no lighted stage for viewing slides. If you want to take pictures of complete coins or stamps, you will need a stand or tube to hold it far enough away. The wide focus range can handle this.

This digital microscope is highly recommended, especially for children, due to its exceptional ease of use. It's ready to use out of the box, features simple focus adjustment, and provides a clear, impressive live image on its built-in screen. The screen eliminates the typical frustrations of traditional microscopes. It includes an SD card, charging cable, six prepared slides, and six LED lights for excellent illumination. A great choice for user-friendliness and viewing quality.

Review of GreenPeek Kids MicroscopeThe GreenPeek Kids Microscope is a fantastic educational tool that combines fun with learning, perfect for young science enthusiasts eager to explore the microscopic world around them. With its user-friendly design and impressive features, this handheld mini scope has quickly become a go-to gadget for curious minds. One of the standout features of the GreenPeek is its 2-inch HD IPS screen. The adjustable angle between 45 and 90 degrees is a thoughtful touch, making it easy for kids to observe specimens without straining their necks or getting uncomfortable. This ergonomic design encourages longer exploration sessions, which is essential for nurturing a passion for science. With magnification options up to 1000X, along with an additional 4X digital zoom, the microscope opens up an impressive visual universe. Kids can easily observe and identify the intricate details of everyday objects, from the delicate structure of leaves to the fascinating anatomy of tiny insects. Such hands-on activities not only enhance hand-eye coordination but also spark curiosity about the natural world. The illumination provided by the 8 adjustable LED lights is another highlight. The ability to control brightness levels means that kids can comfortably explore in various lighting conditions, whether it's a dimly lit room or the depths of a shoebox filled with collected treasures. This feature ensures that the microscopic details are always visible, making the discovery process both easy and enjoyable.Storage and sharing have been made incredibly simple with the inclusion of a 32GB TF card, allowing young explorers to store thousands of high-quality images and several hours of video. The ease of transferring files to a computer empowers kids to share their discoveries, whether for school projects, social media posts, or simply to show family and friends what they’ve learned. This capability fosters a sense of achievement and pride, encouraging them to continue exploring. However, there are a couple of points to consider. Some users might find the device a bit sensitive to touch, requiring a steady hand for the best results when focusing. Additionally, while the screen is a great feature, some older kids might prefer using the microscope with a larger display for more detailed viewing. Nonetheless, these are minor drawbacks in what is otherwise a well-designed product. In conclusion, the GreenPeek Kids Microscope is an excellent educational gift that enchants young explorers and makes science accessible and engaging. Its thoughtful features—the adjustable screen and lighting, capable magnifications, and easy sharing options—truly set it apart in the realm of educational toys. Whether for a birthday present or simply to encourage a budding scientist's interest, the GreenPeek is a valuable addition to any child's toolkit for discovery. This microscope does more than show them the microscopic world; it inspires a lifelong passion for exploration and learning.

This handheld digital microscope arrived in a nicely branded box, which was a good sign it wasn't just another generic product. It even came with a pre-installed 32Gb SD card, though it wasn't a branded one.The focus wheel is conveniently located on the handle, but the screen is a real let-down. It's tiny and the image quality is very low, with large pixels making everything look blocky. The camera itself isn't great either, probably 2MP or lower, and the "zoom" feature is just a digital crop, which only makes the image more distorted. Making heads or tales of an image is difficult in the best of situations, it's mostly just colours. The plastic casing feels thin and not very robust, which is a concern for a device that's likely to be handled by curious little hands.Overall, I'm pretty disappointed with this microscope. While it might be fun for very young children, the low image quality and lack of real zoom make it difficult to use for anything more serious. It's simply not very usable, even for kids.
