I have been buying the cheapie string trimmers. My first one had just one string. My second was a Greenworks but still was more of a toy than a nice good handling garden tool. This one is worlds apart, I am not saying it is perfect but it is like using a real tool that was designed to do well. Greenworks seems to have both level of tools and mowers. The ones that appeal to cheap people like me, and the ones that are better designed and work better too. This string trimmer has the motor up at the top rather than at the bottom of the tool. I didn't pay attention before so I didn't notice that. Looking around at professional grade tools, that I see landscapers use, the motor is up at the top of the stick and not at the bottom. This one is like those professional models. It has a few nice surprises, like you have a two speed switch to go faster and slower, which I never knew was an important thing to do. Around fences and hard to reach areas. It seems counterintuitive, but the slower mode works better, far better. I'm one of those guys that wants full power all the time. With this trimmer you have a lower speed setting and you also have a variable speed control at your fingers. I did the whole fence without having to advance the string one time. I usually go through a roll of string every 2 weeks. This one also takes the thicker 0.95 string and it really is a LOT tougher! it will make you bleed if you wear just flip-flops and short pants. When I advanced the string the first time I thought I was shot in the leg lol. Someone should design a big ball, like that Dyson ball on their vacuum cleaner that I can just adjust the hight and roll the string trimmer on the ground. Even with the included strap it gets heavy after a while!Over all, it is a winner winner chicken dinner! I should have bought this unit first instead of last. I got the one in my battery system, the 40v version. It also will take additional snap on attachments. i don't have any, but I may want to add that snap on edger in the future. I see a lot of YTube people doing that first and then string trimmer after.I like the idea of feeding in line and winding it at the machine. I did it once now and it wasn't the easiest thing to do. I will be keeping an eye on that. The hard part was the winding. There isn't enough to actually grab so it is clumsy and took more strength than I expected. I saw one of the machines that will wind it for you at the push of a button, but this is not it. I need a few more winding experiences to really tell you what it's like in real life.Overall, I am finally happy with a string trimmer and would buy this again and also recommend it. Don't go the cheap road, you will fight with your trimmer all the time. This one is a proper tool and I would not feel guilty, recommending it to a friend. It's a little bit embarrassing but I did have a little bit of trouble attaching the handle. I guess me and the handle just did not get along very well because I've seen others put it together without even blinking an eye. I fought with it like crazy but I finally got it on.Yes, you can buy this, in fact I encourage it! If you are in another system, by the one with the motor up at the top of the stick, and not at the bottom. Those seem to be the pro level units. Thumbs up.

I already had a Greenworks attachment capable trimmer and I wanted a motorized cultivator. For just about $100 I was able to get the cultivator and extend the capability of my existing trimmer, and it works well. It does the job great for the price I paid. The downside is that the handling is set up for a trimmer and not a cultivator, so it's not the easiest to maneuver. But, I figured out a way to work with it. It requires more muscle than is ideal - I'm a fairly strong dude, so it's not that big of an issue - but overall it makes the job of tilling soil quicker and easier.

Nice, Greenworks fits perfectly on Snapper XD, obviously made by the same company that's Greenworks, Kobalt and Snapper XD.1)It's too heavy.2)The even at the highest speed setting on the motor, this thing is geared wrong; the blades don't move fast enough. It's well made, high quality and if you want all the toys that work with your attachment capable motor head, and a little extra reach and angles, you have to get this. But you'll still do your artistic work and touch-ups with a lighter faster easier to handle trimmer that is not this one.

I LOVE for my yard to be clean and for my job to be effortless when I decide to go out there and treat it to a cleaning. I've since made the switch from gas powered and electric powered to battery powered within the year. I did want to purchase this attachment for smaller jobs. I've got to say that I was pleasantly surprised.I purchased the Greenworks battery powered string trimmer after trying my brothers, then the edger attachment, then this attachment! I tried it for the first time a few days ago... it was fairly simple to use. Months ago, I unboxed it (the packaging was great, as always, with Greenworks products), made sure all items were included (plastic guard, screwdriver with dual hex head receptacles and oil for the saw, manual, etc), and let it sit. But while doing yardwork this past Friday, I noticed there was a branch that needed to be trimmed. It was a bit wider than a slice of bologna and I already had my goggles/hat on, so I just poured the oil in the container, hooked up the attachment, battery in, powered it up... the saw chewed right through it in seconds! I was pleasantly surprised and super excited. Plug-and-play... that's it, for the most part. I did glance through the manual to make sure I was on the right track because I've used gas-powered chain saws before. They're quite annoying as the chain always requires adjusting. This one may eventually requiring adjustment, but for my type of use, it was simple. There's tons of life left for the battery, so I didn't have to worry about it running out, and this was after my using it to trim and edge (prior). No issues after this first use... I did use it to trim another (narrower) branch, and the smaller branches within the trimmed branches. Ease of use, lack of problems, fairly lightweight, simple attachment, reach, and the 'Wow!' factor... 5 out of 5 stars.I hope this helps you make your decision. Take care and have a wonderful day!
