Power, Panache, and Limited-edition Jet-powered Tone Another excellent entry in Gretsch’s iconic Electromatic series, the Electromatic Pristine LTD Jet is packed with sonic opportunities and endless expressive potential, masterfully crafted for that distinctive Gretsch twang. Its dyad of tonewoods comprises a premium blend of mahogany and laurel, complemented by a pair of FT-5E Tilter’Tron humbuckers, a comprehensive suite of sound controls, and a Bigsby vibrato to ensure you’re never short on tone-crafting possibilities, much to the delight of Sweetwater’s guitarists. With its Thin “U”-shaped neck and striking visuals, the Gretsch Electromatic Pristine LTD Jet expertly blends heritage craftsmanship with modern possibilities.Carefully selected tonewoods Debate abounds as to how much of a difference tonewoods can make with electric guitars, but no matter your persuasion, it’s all but impossible to deny the importance of a solid tonal foundation, and Gretsch’s luthiers spared no effort in crafting as much for this distinctive Jet.

I'm only giving it 5 stars because I've made extensive modifications so it would be a truly great playing and sounding guitar by employing a luthier to install the same locking tuners as found on high-end Gretsch guitars, replacing the stock bridge with a roller bridge so the tremolo activity won't result in broken strings, replacing the muddy pickups with the same pickups found on high-end Gretsch guitars, conditioning the wood of the fretboard, filing the ends of the frets so they're smooth, filing the tops so they're level, filing the nut slots into U shapes so they won't cause as much friction, and continuing the abalone motif that Gretsch used for the headstock logo elsewhere by laminating the truss cover and pick guard with abalone from New Zealand. I bought Gretsch's best case for it here on Amazon and it's not quite up to snuff either. The B50 tremolo will also be swapped for a U.S.-made B5. The guitar is currently at the luthier for the pickup swap but here's a few photos of the brand new instrument in progress.
