Couple things they could have done to get the 5th star. Paint the part of the shaft that is exposed so it doesn’t rust and use a better shaped clip on the end that holds shaft into transaxle. The clip kept getting caught even after quite a few tries and perfectly aligning shaft and lube. I used the original clip off the old shaft and it worked first shot. The metal clip supplied is of softer metal also and gets chipped and cut up upon trying to get splines to overlap over it. If you have an original equipment shaft don’t even risk getting metal shavings in trans from clip, just put Toyota’s clip on new shaft. Hope this can help next person.
