This slide is not made of brass. The seller may not be aware (giving them the benefit of the doubt), but this is made of copper or some copper alloy. Definitely not brass. I didn't love the gilded finish because it gets scratched easily with the guitar strings, so I decided to sand the finish down. Turns out there is a pink metal underneath which I guess has to mean this is copper sold as brass. It fits my fingers great so 2 stars for fit.
