I attempted to clean my gutters with a small ladder, which helped me get quite a bit out of the gunk. However, it is very light and kinda flimsy. I fault my ladder for the inability to properly use the tool. It does get the scoop motion the can uplift sticks with a little push.

I found the hook the most useful to me: I was able to get the tool into a very full gutter and pull the mess towards me. Yes, it worked, but I had to stop at every gutter hanger, pull the tool out, then start again at the next hanger. I wasn't able to get much use from the scoop side. Bottom line: I got up on a ladder and using a few of the pole sections, was able to clean the gutters, but a bit frustrating

Initially, when I was putting this together (it requires minor assembly but EVERYTHING you need is in the box), I thought I would only want to go our to about 6-7 feet as I thought it would be a little hard to handle any longer. But, once I got on my ladder, I realized how easy and light the product is to use and attached the remaining connectors for the full 10 feet.I can place my ladder in one spot and clean my gutters in 10 feet in both directions ... making the whole process simple and quick. It has a "shovel" end that you can use to scoop debris from the gutter, but my favorite part is the "pull back" attachment you can use to simply bring the mess to you without having to move the ladder. Love it and now cleaning my gutters is an easier task!

This tool is now my go-to tool for gutter cleaning in my backyard. I need to start with explaining how my gutters and roofline are set up. I live in Florida and many houses, like mine, have an aluminum frame ‘cage’ that goes over the pool and has screen material between the framing. This keeps most bugs and all debris from getting into the pool. From the peak, the roof slants down towards the backyard, where there is a gutter. However, on the other side of the gutter is a vertical wall of screen that begins the pool enclosure. So when leaves fall down the roof, they go into the gutter, like any other gutter system. However with the vertical screen wall, you can’t just blow the leaves out because they’re stuck. So you have to pull them out. I’ve done it by hand and it’s messy and wet. I’ve used a blower, but it takes just as long because you have to do it in sections. So I tried this tool. What I did was to stand above the gutter and use this tool to push the leaves down until I hit a bracket. I’d then use the stick part to shove the leaves/debris under the bracket and continue to the next section. It works perfectly! I was able to do two large piles of leaves and scope them into a garbage bag. When I got the bulk of the leaves out, I went back and do another cleaning and the scope part of this tool pushed the water down, which picked up some of the smaller debris left behind. I did finish the cleaning with a gas blower to really get the last of it. However, this will now be my 2-step process for cleaning the backyard gutters. (For the front gutters, I’ll continue to use a leaf blower because it’s just the fastest/simplest way to do it).

This is the best tool for physically cleaning gutters from underneath that I've come across. This works great for outcroppings that are a bit dangerous, or when you just can't get yourself up on the roof with a leaf blower. This does take a bit of strength to control properly, so be prepared to push and pull with your shoulders at the outsides of your body quite a bit. If your gutters are heavily packed, it's going to take a few passes, but you will be able to clear even stubborn clogs with the tool...even under the gutter support brackets. It's also much more pleasant than directly sticking your hands in there, but you're probably going to have to do that too. Cleaning gutters is a messy job, but this can help in some situations. Recommended.

I liked the idea of reaching my house gutters from a ladder and not having to get on the roof to clean gutters. This tool seemed like a good solution. But I had difficulties using the tool because the gutter braces (holding the gutters to the roof’s edge) got in the way when trying to use the tool. So the tool works best when cleaning only small sections at a time in a gutter.

So this is nice and long, after you screw the pieces together but the head piece, that you use in the gutters, is rectangular so doesn't do a very good job of clearing the leaves. It should have been a spatula or some design that when you pulled it across the gutter, it would pull at the leaves. This design does it a bit but nowhere near as well as it could. And while it's nice that the pieces are metal, therefore strong, it also makes it heavy and when you're extending it all the way, that makes it more tiresome to use than if it were all plastic. But that's a secondary problem to the design of the part that goes into the gutter and is supposed to clear the leaves.

I have this one spot, about 12 feet long that is almost impossible to reach safely. It is 30 feet up from the ground. Most of the gutter is 15 feet above a deck level (reachable by ladder), but that last 12 feet is beyond the deck. It is a mast year for oak trees that have dumped almost 200 pounds of acorns on my deck with more on the roof and in the gutters. Oh yea, AND I hate squirrels.I hoped that this tool would give me that 10 feet of reach. The pole is long enough but it is heavy. The scoop-rake part of the tool is about as useless of a design as you can get. The shovel part works as well as a teaspoon tied to the end of a long stick. With the tool extended, you can't get it into the gutter because of hangers in the way. The angle on the rake part is too small. It does not allow it to push things towards you under the gutter hangers. There is nothing in this tool that can be repurposed or used in any way.It makes you wonder. Do they even have gutters on their houses in China?
