I'm 5-star satisfied with this purchase, but it's probably a 4-star item. I was really pleased with how the adjustable clamps can hold standard size small marbles as well as the bigger ones. The two larger marbles that came with the kaleidoscope are both great, one of them usually colorful and beautiful.That said, it all smelled absolutely foul when I opened the box, and even after cleaning it the brassy metallic coating quickly irritated my fingers and made them smell metallic as well. I've since covered the whole cylinder with string and the clamp dials with thin strips of an adhesive tape...so it's fine to hold now, but that's a bit of a hassle.Anyways, now I really like it, and the kaleidoscopic effects on all my marbles are lovely.

I picked this up as a mantel piece, just decorative. It does work and is fairly heavy but the threads that hold the marble were seized on one side like they were cross threaded.
