I needed a longer arm . I mounted these on wainscot with a wide chair rail on the top. This size was perfect to get the extra space I needed. It's a solid casting not like the hollow one you get at the hardware store. Made in Taiwan. The wainscot is white oak and I used in impact driver to sink the screws. I didn't snap one screw! Installed 26 of them in an old church with a winder stair. They are sold as a pair. I was impressed.

As you can see I don’t have a flat surface for my handrail. There was a very unsightly board underneath, before I just bought these longer neck supports. Since the wall is uneven, this is the perfect distance without needing any additional supports. The brackets feel very strong, but I purchased four just in case. The siding is cypress. I’m considering painting them a softer gold, but time and sun will do that for me anyways. This was a great alternative to replacing my entire handrail system and very easy to install.
