I have 2 other cables that both turned on when the temp dropped. not this one. too late to return it and I have to unwind from where I put it. waste of time & money.

Keeps everything thawed, just be sure not to cross itself, cuz it'll burn up. And I repaired it. And continues to work fabulous

Works well easy to install. Make sure you turn it on for 3-5 minutes to verify it works, and to make it flexible enough to install. I knocked off one star because there wasn't enough roof clips and I had to order more to complete my install.

When I built my tiny house everyone said I'd have to bury the water line going out to it. Even the inspector said the heated cable idea wouldn't work. We had our first snow of the year and it's 12 degrees at night so far the heat wrap is holding up. So I definitely recommend it for tiny house/ADU/RV/van lifers who need to connect to municipal water in the winter. A few things to note: For best results - 1.) Use aluminum foil on the water line first 2.) apply heated cabled along the length of the water line, secure with electrical tape 3.) wrap it all with bubble foil insulation. Lastly, this cable peaks at 18amps. A 15amp outlet is fine but make sure the breaker supplying it has very little load or you could potentially damage the cable. Also, if you're trying to use this with an external thermostat make sure it's rated for 20amps or more.
