Still works after several years but the light burned out the first year.

install is fine, two wires push into escutcheon plate. Worked fine a few times then sticks in the contact (pushed in) position and keeps doorbell chime in house activated. This creates a fire hazard and only noticeable as the solenoid controlling the striker has voltage keeping it pulled back.

Works fine, very easy install and nice to have the button lighted. The gold plastic looks a little cheap, because it was a little cheap - so no complaints. I think I paid less than $2.

Attractive, traditional push button for doorbell or various purposes. It’s lighted so if the filament in the built in light bulb is closing your circuit (like if you’re using this on a garage door) then open up the button assembly from the back by bending tabs out. Remove lamp by untwisting leads and keeping if you want to use this somewhere else or if you need a replacement doorbell lamp for another button. Once lamp is disconnected, open circuit is completely open. With a doorbell solenoid, not an issue. But this is a hint for other uses or doorbells that don’t have a solenoid or are in the ding position or not doing anything when you install this. The brass form of this button allows it to go into a drilled hole or into a wall plate with sufficient holes to mount a push button of this variety. Nice product!!

It's a nice looking doorbell. It worked great for 9 days, then failed in the button pressed position. It was super easy to have a replacement sent and I will give it one more try. If it holds up I will edit the value for money and overall rating. It has a 1 year warranty, but the original doorbell on my front door has lasted 50 years. I have expectations.Update. The second one did not work for me either. Maybe it's because I was trying to use it with a garage door opener as a simple way to connect (close contacts) on the wires to an old (removed) keypad. This doorbell also has constant continuity across the contacts. I opened it up, removed the light bulb (see the pix), and it now works as expected. Maybe it will work in a doorbell.

I purchased a decorative new doorbell assembly first, but I would have to drill new holes in my brick exterior. This was a easier, and cheaper solution. I don't know if this button is universal to every manufacture, but I took my chance and it paid off. After unscrewing the old assembly, I simply pushed the broken button out and plugged in the new. One wire was very short and it came off, but that was a easy fix too.

Works very well, looks good, fits the hole in my doorbell decorative trim very tightly. Hopefully the bulb will outlast the original bulb, which was good for only about 1 year. I have been unable to find this item containing an LED bulb--that would be perfect.4 stars because saw similar unit at HD for 3.97.
