Holy Smokes....Just like everyone else said, but I think mine was worse...I have a 95 Ram (late year model) with camper package, air bags, etc. and a Dana 80. Yes, the instructions are absolute garbage. My particular kit came with 2 of what they refer to as the "3 hole plate", however one of these plates has 4 holes (for the dana 80). In my situation the holes were not spaced properly on this plate. So I had to drill that. Then the instructions tell you to add the large 2 hole spacer to the drivers side, this didn't work for me either, I had to add it to the passengers side under the large plate in order for the bar to be level. Then as others have mentioned I had to drill the frame to fit the spacing of the provided brackets for the links. On my truck its a real PITA to navigate mounting those on the drivers side due to the fuel tank. You also end up having to jack the truck up by the frame to manage getting the bolt through the bracket and link...I'm really hoping this makes a difference with my truck camper (Lance 915). The hardware is also not that great IMO. The 'lock-nuts' they provide have too much resistance to tighten without something counter holding them..I would have rather just been given lock washers since a lot of the locations where you're required to counter-hold are a pain with this install. I stuck with it and finished the install due to the positive comments on improved handling with a truck camper, but if you're installing this for improved pavement performance on this truck...just save yourself the headache and BAIL!

Installed this on a 99 Dodge 1/2 ton Sport 4WD extended cab. We have a slide in truck camper and with the camper on the truck there was too much side to side leaning. Wind, turning corners, semi trucks all caused too much movement. This sway bar made a huge difference. To be honest it gave a better result than I expected. As other reviewers have mentioned the instructions are pretty bad and it is a bit confusing to figure out what to do with the assortment of parts in the package. Being able to use a lift helped a lot. Would not have been fun doing it on the ground. Everything we needed was in the box and it all fit well.I gave it 5 stars even though the instructions were crap. I felt that since I knew they were crap when I ordered it I couldn't count that against it. Not like it was a surprise. What was a surprise was how well it worked. I had never heard of Hellwig until I began researching sway bars for this truck. This was the largest diameter sway bar I could find that fit my truck and that actually made the sale. If I ever need anything like this again, Hellwig will be the first place I look. With a robust product that works this well I can live with crappy instructions.BTW This sway bar did not effect ride quality. The suspension still operates normally when the vehicle is parallel to the road. Right to left leaning of the vehicle tries to twist the sway bar and since the sway bar resists being twisted it helps keep the vehicle from leaning.

Used Helliwig products for years (3 trucks now) but this one was a tough one and the install instructions need help. First problem was the instructions show the 2002 Dodge 2500 required to use a 2-hole and 3 hole 1/4" heavy duty relocation bracket to position the sway bar reward, then the front struts don't line up at all, bar sits way to far back. I eliminated the brackets and found the sway bar bolted up into the stock locations! In fact I used the stock "frame bolts" protruding downward for the Helliwig end link brackets instead of using the supplied hardware which made life easy because the stock bolts feed through with a plate so no wrench is needed behind them The fuel tank side requires a ambidextrous person to get up there to wrench it. Stock bolts have that welded bracket so no wrench required. The sway bar bushing bracket holes were not centered and had to put the bushing brackets into a vise and "squish them tighter", then ream out the holes so they would line up with the lower axle mount brackets. Still could only get a open end wrench on the nuts and could not use a washer as pictured because the bolts are too close to the bracket wall. With hard to turn captive nuts and open end wrench only got 1/4 turn for a few hundred times...I assume the forming process of those brackets could be better to bend actual 90 degree bends.Although they fit, the drop down links are a little short and could add one more hole to each link bracket. The Dodge 4x4 trucks sit higher (about 2-3 inches than 2-wheel drive), so the instructions tell you to leave "one hole between the bolts" on the adjustable links, but in doing so the sway bar points upward angle with truck unloaded. I assume they will sit straighter when truck it loaded with camper. On the positive side, in spite of the rework, confusing instructions, and hardware didn't match the truck, the sway bar and poly bushings are awesome as the truck is more stable than the stock toothpick rear bar. The hardware is beefy, the bar is formed correctly, I would have given 5 stars if the instructions were better and the hardware matched the truck. Ended up with 3 thick steel brackets and a hand full of washers I couldn't use. I would highly recommended Helliwig sway bars, just be ready for a little work and a vise with round file to fix the poly bushing brackets and check the fit before installing the lower brackets like I did and had to remove them (1/4 turn at a time...). Overall, 3 hours of work and no bloody knuckles. Would buy again and if I didn't have to rework the brackets would have given 5 star.

These Sway Bars are the best on the market...hands down !! but the instructions arevery poor....pictures are unclear and some what out of focus..looks like a bad copy of a copy...The instructions are not that clear too...I have installed lots of diff items and have to say I am a good all round handman and know what im doing and these instructions are bad....I got it fig. out but I think some folks would have real problems....and if the instructions were clear they would not have a hard time...Over all I really like Hellwig and these sway bar.......
