Bought this to replace broken drive clutch cable. Received a genuine Honda cable that fit perfect. As other reviewer said, make sure you have the correct mower model number so you can get the correct replacement. For example, the part ending with C01 has a different end than the B01 that I needed/bought.

It was the one I needed HRS16 (REAR CLUTCH DRIVE CABLE) it has a different lock block than most of them. It's a bit long but I screwed a bolt into the spring up by the handle & it held the ball end from going back into spring to work perfectly.Take the cable off your mower first to help match the end that goes under mower there are different ends for honda ....multiple. so make sure you match that end. My part # was not correct for HRS16 (V3) is not for my mower even though it says it is. Well it's not.

This was for a Honda Harmony 216 SDA mower. There are two different clutch cables (at least) for this series of mowers, depending on year of make. Make sure you take the old one off and compare it to this one. This has the simple l-shaped end that hooks under the deck of the mower and the spring that attaches to the engagement handle on the other end. I was able to find the part number for this on another site and then find it with Amazon's search function. Installed in about 10 minutes (hardest part was pushing the plastic clip through the holder that engages the drive. It was kind of cold outside, so if you heat the clip up with a hair dryer first, it should push through pretty easy.) and worked perfectly. You will need a couple of zip ties to attach it to the handle as you can't feed it through the ones that held the broken cable in place. You only need to take off one shield under the deck to install this and loosen (no need to remove completely) the bolt that holds the throttle cable and engine cable to the handle. You will need a 10 mm socket wrench with an extension and a 10 mm open or box wrench to hold the nut on the bolt throttle cable assembly. An easy and cheap fix to get your mower's self propelled feature working again.

The rating is for the quality of this replacement cable for Honda self propelled mowers. I have searched around for a replacement cable for my lawn mower and finally settled on this part number since the description says it will fit on all other parts manuals. This cable DID NOT FIT my model (HRS216 SDA) perfectly as it is about 12 inches too long. I probably could have found a way to support the excess length, but the real problem is that the cable tension block which supports/holds the cable near the handle is not split and you need to thread the (cut) cable thru it for it to work properly.Instead of sending it back, I carefully cut the cable with a dremel cut off bit to the correct length and soldered a new end where the spring attaches to the cable. I watched a few videos on YouTube to see how an end is soldered on. And now it works like it should for about $11. The end under the mower deck is correct as is the end for the handle, just the length is wrong. I don't know what the correct part number should be for my mower, but I have a feeling Honda changed the part after a certain serial number and I got the wrong part. So for reference, and to possibly help someone else in my situation, my mower is an HRS216 SDA with a serial # of 6065697 circa 1999 and this cable is NOT a direct fit.
