Easy install (I did it myself). Easy to read and set. Old school ease and no digital components to set. Perfect for heat only furnace. Does not have cooling settings for air conditioners. (I don’t have central air).

Great manual thermometer that you can use for a heat only system. Purchased this to replace a broken battery operated one which required constant changing of battery. This device is simple, install it once and hook up two wires to make it operate. Local hardware store wanted double for what this is for. Great to have an extra too keep on hand in the event it may fail or break. Good quality construction and quick delivery!

I had 2 left over thermostats from remodels. The mercury tube one was simple but just walking around the RV caused it to start and stop the furnace. I had a "smart one" that was required to be level and the RV wasn't level half the time. It was also way to complicated and everytime I turned off the RV power, it would run down its internal backup battery and then loose all its settings. This one was cheap and worked great.

Five stars easy to install. Straightforward, easy basic came in a good box to avoid any shipping issues. I would recommend this to anyone needing a good basic thermostat completely mechanical no batteries are powered required. MarkMannM2

Tried several low voltage thermostats that either fail or are unreliable. This unit has been great and the adjustment for the switch gap ensures the call for ignition happens.

1978 2 wire manufactured home. This one works. I look at the old one, calibrate then hook the 2 wires and done. The picture is of my calibration. The furnace I have is basically a reproduction of the original coleman. It was installed last year.

Very easy to install but appears to be very sensitive. Even though it keeps our basement at the set temperature the fire at times will come on and off instantly. Don't know if it's the gas valve or the thermostat. It's attached to a natural gas fired fireplace and does NOT have the mercury bulb.

Honeywell Home CT30A1005 Standard Manual Economy ThermostatI see in the Q&A's the manufacturer replied it is suitable for Empire heaters, while a seller said no it isn't. I expect that seller speaks from having had thermostats returned to him as unusable. My observation - not suitable for Empire heaters that need a millivolt thermostat. This seems to be a '2-wire' thermostat, not a millivolt thermostat. It generally failed to turn on. Millivolts measured arriving at the thermostat were adequate. I found infinite resistance across its contact points. (That should measure zero when the points appear to be closed). I see 'rated up to 30 volts' on a tag inside. Maybe this needs the usual 24 volts from a transformer. I cleaned the points with electronics solvent. No improvement. Moving the temp lever hot/cold several times is the only way to start the furnace. It just won't come on by itself as the room cooled even when the points appear closed. It's incompatible with my new heater that calls for a millivolt thermostat. The new heater:'HouseWarmer Slim-Profile Direct Vent Heater with Blower - Natural Gas' isSame as - many Empire heaters. I assume its made by Empire. So I bought an Empire 'reed switch' thermostat. I see it's different internally. Instead of mechanical points it has a reed assembly similar to a small resistor but glass, bridging between the two terminals. A magnet on the temperature-sensing coil passes by this reed component to trigger its internal points.'Cozy Low Voltage Reed Switch Thermostat' looks to be same as the Empire thermostat.Advice - Not for use with Empire heaters. Not for use where a Reed Switch is called for.Summary - This Honeywell CT30 Series thermostat is not suitable for a heater that has no external voltage source.
