Like all the features for digital control. Has a preset for installers high and low temps. Can protect flooring from being set too high or too low by users.

I have purchased and installed five of these thermostats. When they work they are great, silent, accurate and easy to use but when you get one that doesn't work right the manufacturer argues with you and will not replace a defective unit. One of the five units I have will run for eight minutes and then quits. I called the phone number in the manual and they would not replace the defective unit unless I ran tests on the unit and gave them voltage and amperage numbers. That's not good service. My personally experienced failure rate is 20%. I replaced the bad unit with a new unit and everything works fine.

My '70's era home came equipped with baseboard electric heaters controlled by dial-type rheostats. When we completely renovated the home we installed a modern HVAC system but kept the baseboard wiring intact. New baseboard heaters were installed in each room and these Honeywell thermostats were used to replace the outdated dial-type controls. We now know the exact temperature in every room and we occasionally use the baseboard heat to balance out temperature from room to room or to warm up a single room without warming the whole house. These thermostats are reasonably priced and easy to install.

I bought three of these a few years ago and they work fabulously. I just bought two more. The first one I sent back immediately because it was so out of whack as to not be usable. The second one is nearly as bad and I'm ready to smash it and go back to an old style baseboard heater thermostat. The room temperature is reading at least two degrees lower than the actual temp and it is constantly allowing the heater to get stuck on instead of maintaining a steady room temperature. This is a replacement installation and there is nothing in its location that affects its readings and accuracy and yes, they were installed correctly with the proper settings.

The thermostat is easy to install but it goes on and off every few seconds. It's trying to maintain the temperature by 0.000000001th of a degree, instead of allowing at least a degree or two drop, then turn back on. I bought a Honeywell Home RLV3120A1005 Digital Non-Programmable Thermostat and it has the same problem.

I purchased this control to be used with Cadet wall heaters whose manual thermostats were a major pain and would not hold a consistent temperature. Except I am not an electrician. And there are currently two heaters rated for 1500w on one switch. And I'm lucky that it was only the new thermostat that fried, and not the whole house. Entirely a product of my ignorance, and nothing to do with the thermostat (which functioned beautifully for about a week before it died). You might think that a glowing recommendation would be inappropriate given my experience, but not so. The fact that it worked so well before it quit (again, due to MY ignorance) and didn't burn the house down is a remarkable safety endorsement! And for that reason alone, I would buy it again, but capable of the correct wattage. In fact, I need to go place an order...

I had a great experience in one room - very refreshing looks compared to the old gold and woodgrain dial thermostat for the baseboard. I was hesitant to buy more after reading some other reviews, but I've now installed 2 more and they have performed flawlessly, maintaining temperatures through multiple winters in rooms that are at the ends of the house and not well supported by the central heat.

The thermostat's thermometer is not perfectly accurate. I have a high-accuracy calibrated and certified room thermometer and it's always a degree or two off, but that's fine. I don't expect a wall thermostat to be perfectly accurate. However, the thing I find annoying is that even on the slow cycle/fan heater mode, it cycles far too often. It tries too hard to keep the temperature where it thinks it should be, which means that when the room temp gets close to the setting, it will pop on and off every 5 minutes to try to maintain it. It should probably have a bit more hysteresis to avoid rapid cycling. It's especially annoying if you are trying to sleep with it nearby. It necessitates having a loud white noise generator of some kind to mask the fan noise turning on and off. Also, it's a 2-wire system and it takes no batteries. It is compact and takes up roughly the same footprint as one of those $3 mechanical thermostats. It's basic functionality is extremely well done. I love these thermostats and they are light-years ahead of the cheap mechanical thermostats that my house had before. But they aren't perfect. A few small tweaks to their behavior and available settings and they pretty much could be.
