Cost effective but doesnt seem to work well. I usually treat every 3 uses, now it takes every single use of just being me using same shorts every night. Also freezes, most do not, so is obviously very diluted.

I had a couple of chances to use this defoamer before shutting our hot tub down for the winter. I ran the jets at full force with the air valves open to produce as much foam as possible. Then I added a little defoamer at a time to see how much to use. It didn't take much! Almost immediately the foam started dissipating. I look forward to resuming use of it in the spring.I recognize that any defoamer only works well if the water chemistry is in balance, the filter has been cleaned regularly and the water has been partially changed as needed. If the water has too many impurities like oils, soap or dirt, the water should be changed. You can't just keep adding chemicals or cleaning agents to the water because they build up!
