Direct replacement, seems to be sturdier than the original pull start system that came on the chainsaw when I bought it. Only came with two new bolts, but not a big deal still had the original ones, which work just fine. For anyone who is OCD like myself the new cover did not come with a Husqvarna/model no. sticker, the old one peels off, and I added some rubber cement to stick it to the new one.

Fit my 440e perfectly just as the original. Works like a charm. If anything is different it seems to be built a little beefier. The drive is more stable, not as much slack in the gear.

As the title says, on my older (can't remember the year) 440 e-series X-TORQ it bolted right on and worked perfectly. As has been said elsewhere, you can peel the sticker off of the old unit and apply it here. Looks like new, works like new. Could not be happier. Arrived on time, too. Great job.

2014 440 x-torq, fit perfect and starts great! Has 4 teeth instead of the stock 2, so better grip and easier start. OEM was always a hard start, like the cylinders were stiff, not anymore!

This is an adequate replacement part. It was a little difficult to fit, it appeared to be a little oversized on one side but with some manouvering we got it in place. It has been working well and it's definately cost effective.

After messing around for a couple of hours trying to replace the rope pulley and rewinding the coil spring to no avail on my chainsaw I decided to replace the entire assembly. It took less that ten minutes to install and replace the husq sticker onto the new assembly. Will not speak to durabilty but if I get 3-4 years out of the replacement part I will be happy. It was a perfect fit and an easy install for my 435E chainsaw.
