This kit was used to replace the OEM carb on a stool leaf blower. Worked perfect and easy to replace and adjust

Watched a few video's on Youtube and installed this carb on my SH86C leaf blower, no problem. Started up on 2nd pull. After minor warming up and adjustments, starts first time on first pull again. Great replacemect and money saver from the OEM carb. Highly recommend this product.

My Stihl BG 86 is about 3 years old and is only used around my house. After running poorly for two weeks, one morning I could not even pull the starter cord ! After pulling the spark plug pure liquid gasoline poured from the cyclinder. Severe flooding ! To start the blower I had to pull the sparkplug, drain the gas from the cyclinder, squirt in a little ether, replace the sparkplug and pull the starter cord 15 to 20 times. Whew ! Bad carburetor. I pulled up a video on Youtube and saw how easy the carburetor installation would be. The Huztl carburetor I purchased from Amazon arrived a few days later and fit perfectly with no alterations required. After installation it ran after the first two pulls of the starter cord. I did tweek the fast run adjustment with a small flathead screwdriver. Easy ! The best part was saving a $300 cost for purchasing a new Stihl BG 86 leaf blower by spending just $17 for the Hutzl carburetor kit and installing it myself. Since I also own Stihl weed eater and a Stihl chainsaw I would repair either one of them in a hearbeat if I ever had a carburetor problem.

The Stihl BG86 ran well with initial settings . Good value and well made. It only took a slight tweak on high speed needle for adjustment.

This carburetor fit my BG-86 without needing to use parts from the oem carb . Had read another review where this was found necessary and was expecting to have to do the same. Perhaps theirs was a slightly older model. Mine was purchased several years ago. Works great after a few minor adjustments to the L and H adjustment screws. Will probably pick up a carb rebuild kit for the original OEM carb and keep it for a spare.

I love my Stihl BG86 blower, but it got to where it couldn’t be started. It seemed like the compression was crazy high, which made no sense. A quick search told me the carburetor was bad and leaking fuel. I researched replacement carbs and while there were some professionals saying only use genuine Stihl replacements, enough said that it worked for me to give this one a shot. The carb fit perfectly, the gaskets seemed to be good quality, and everything lined up nice and tight together. After installing it, the blower started up on the second pull. I had to adjust both the idle as well as full speed, but that is super easy to do with a small flathead screwdriver.I also replaced the fuel filter inside the tank and it seemed identical to the OEM I pulled off. I did not use the spark plug and can’t imagine I will need to replace the primer bulb with the two extras, but if you need one you will have it. My tubing was also fine so I didn’t use the included tubing either. All in all, this carb is working great for me, and of course you can’t beat the price! I would say buy it with confidence, but know you will most likely have to adjust it once it is installed. Not a big deal at all!

I have a Stihl BG 86 and after reading the reviews I decided to give it a try as opposed to buying an OEM replacement. Installation was fine. It had a third air port that required me to drill a hole in the air filter cover to allow it to protrude thru. That took a little bit of doing in order to get it drilled precisely. I installed the unit, replaced all the nuts and screws. When I went to prime, it did not prime. I hit it with some starting fluid, and it ran very slowly for about a minute, then it started sputtering and it shut itself down. I then went on eBay and purchased an OEM replacement. The blower is now running as if it was brand new.

This fit my blower and ran fine with minor adjustments. BUT!! I had to swap the top part of carburetor with my old carb. The breather would not go back on because the new carb had a nipple sticking out that my original carb did not have . I removed the 4 screws and swapped top part of carb. Easy fix ran great. My blower BG86Z.
