I teach an electrical class and this HVAC motor contactor which is 24V and 40 Amp with 2 Pole is an awesome demonstration to my students of what a coil is like, what it does and how it affects the 2 different poles.

This HVAC motor contactor worked perfectly as a replacement for a 7 year old Trane TEM4 furnace/heat contactor. A symptom that you need to replace your contactor is that when you turn on the heat at your thermostat and the fan will run for a few minutes and then shut off. You'll never get any heat and the process will repeat itself over and over again. Another symptom is that the fan and/or heat will not shut off. These contactors use 24 volts of power from the transformer and thermostat to safely engage the contactors that connect the furnance heat coils to 240 volts of electricity. When they fail, the "plunger" will sometimes stay stuck open or closed or may even chatter off and on. In my case, the 3 year old Ecobee thermostat appeared to have gotten stuck in the heat position for over an hour straight (based upon logs) and melted. It ruined the contactor, transformer and melted the ecobee. This contactor fit perfectly and after replacing the transformer everything is back up and running. 5/5 stars for being a really great product that worked perfectly and is supper inexpensive for DIY repair.

Used this contactor to convert a garage heater to use a thermostat. Functions exactly as expected. No complaints. Will update review if I have issues in the long run.
